Boost gauge hose routing

Where are you guys routing the boost gauge hose through the firewall? I know about cutting the steering boot. I'm not keen on doing that because it does rain down here and I don't want another leak.

What I want to know is are there any other options? Are there any preexisting holes I can take advantage of and how do I find them? Or are you drilling holes in the firewall?

I just ran mine through the steering boot easy beats drilling holes. Do that its the easiest.

My clutch pedal, there is 2 holes on top that went through, I just picked one .

I drove through a rain storm and I cut my steering boot, no water got it.

Thanks for the options guys. I tried to see where the wiring harness goes through I didn't know it's on the passenger side. I am also going to look around clutch pedal, it looked like there is an opening at the top. Otherwise I'm putting a hole through the boot.

The boot is going to be the easiest and also you want the line to be short to for accurate readings. Longer the line the more delayed it will read which can throw tuning off a bit. Just make a small X that is smaller than the hose and push it through.

Are you using the nylon tube or going with the better silicone vacuum hose?

I'm thinking of using the nylon tube for now because it's all I have. I'll get some silicone tubing later. As for routing I did find another way to go. When The Borg installed an after market alarm, they drilled a hole through the firewall right next to the steering boot. I think I'll use that for now.

Then I'm going to splice into the line for the fuel pressure regulator because that's real close to the gauge.
