I am about 99% sure my turbo seals are blown. I burn oil (smoke) when I idle sometimes...and i have noticed a significant power loss....my question is Do you feel a power loss when it is in fact blown seals on your turbo?

Blown seals usually result in mega smoke under load.

Have you done a compression test?
Have you done a boost leak test recently?
How old are your plugs and wires?
Have you checked for excessive turbo shaft play?

Well it happened when I was tuning my car last....I was at about 4k and all the sudden I lost power and wasn't able to boost at all so I pulled over to check what I broke and it seemed that I was pushing oil and I had dried out one of my lifters, So I threw the heaviest oil I could find in it and drove home, After about 10 min I was able to boost again. Iv done a boost leak test and I dont have any leaks, the plugs were put in before the tuning so they were new, Im using a COP setup and I have a decent amount of shaftplay, Moves up and down but not so much in and out....I smoke when I idle but not enough when I boost to tell. And of course I smell burnt oil all day long.

If it was the turbo seals then you would notice more smoke when under boost

doesn't sound like a turbo seal. exhaust seal smoke like crazy and intake side seals will fill your ic pipes with oil. so a compresion test to see it for didn't bend a valve or if your piston rings went out

Have you done a boost leak test since this problem occurred or was the last test beforehand?

I'd urge you to do a boost leak and compression test. Make sure you can hold 20psi of test pressure and drop no more than 1psi every couple of seconds. If you can't, track down and fix the problem(s). If you see compression problems, follow up with a leakdown test.

usualy smoke at idle means valve stem seals, not turbo. You might have even a bigger problem if there is a slight power loss.

I did the boost leak test after the fact....but I cant get any more than 5-6psi. I have one boost leak and it seems to be at my throttle plate shaft seal.

I agree with the valve stem seal possibility, but I'd still recommend a compression test.

As for boost leaks, you really need to get the intake air-tight. Check your PCV valve for leaks and use the soapy water trick to look at your injector insulators, TB gaskets, BISS, couplers, and IC. You might need an extra hand so that someone can keep the intake pressurized while you look around for bubbles.

ya, I do a boost leak test about every week or so...or at least try to. The only leak I have is at the throttle plate....ill get back to you guys when I get that compression test done later on today or tomorrow.

I can't comment on the oil consumption, however, I can mention that I also have a 50 trim that is leaking pretty badly myself... I'd just go with the prior recommendation to rule that out as a possibility... You can at least test to see if it's the 50 trim that is leaking by eliminating the oil feed for it to see if it is still burning oil (just verify that there is no residual left in the exhaust to burn off). -Even better, if you have an old 14b, you can just slap it in there to further rule it out as being the 50 trim.
Honestly, if it's burning oil even at idle, it doesn't sound too good man.
Good Luck

Should be NO noticeable in/out movement, and very little up/down- ESPECIALLY while the turbo's still on the car because it's constantly seeing oil. It's different if the turbo was sitting on your bench for a month and you grabbed the shaft and it had some up/down play.

You're in need of a turbo rebuild, son.
