i know that venting is bad and i understand it will mess with your car in ways, my question is will venting to the atmosphere "as i do in my turbo xs" cause the car to somewhat stutter or seem like its bogging down when boosting sometimes? i know it effects your idol and to run rich i see on my wideband, but im just wondering if this would cause your car to sputter and stumble when trying to boost?

look down the horn of the BOV at idle and see if it is cracked open, or better yet, watch the piston inside and see if it moves when the car is started, then slowly rev the engine a bit. if you see any movement in the piston of the BOV, the spring is too soft, you can add a washer or three to increase the spring tention. My cheap ebay knock off did when I first installed it, I shimed the spring and not had issues for about 2 years now with it.

if it moves under vacuume, then under boost it can be pushed open, you have to find the right balance on both sides of the BOV

yea when i got this it was on a evo previously and had a few washers already installed so im guessing that is a high possibility if it was ran very long like that...thanks for the responses guys im not a newb but just curious as to if that might be a big problem...im in the process of buying a greddy rs and recirculating it!

well when mine blows off....its enough to make your eyes water!!

now reason in particular just have heard good things about it, and i like the look....also i put my stock BOV back on and it ran like a completely diff car, the xs was really messing up my car bad!!!

More than likely it was leaking under vacuum. You need to learn how to drive when venting, shifting is different etc due to the nature of it. You cant just jab the gas and let off to make it pop, youll about fall on your face due to the drivetrain lurch.

well its not quite that easy hombre, i dont drive a manual and i have a 16g so it takes a effort to blow off, i cant just punch the gas its gotta build boost...but it helped big time with my iddle

If you dont have a manual, you need to recirc since you cant pop the clutch to make the drivetrain not buck.

why does it buck exactly?
