Hey DSMers?? I just have a few questions so bare with me:coy: Ok I have a slightley modded 2g DSM.. I have all the basics down but my blow off valve is too damn stiff for my little 12 psi.. I am currently using a Tial FV50 (50mm black) and has a stiffer spring (20+ psi rated) because my dumb ass:sosad: decided i was gonna run over 20 psi. I am currently looking to sell it, if any of you are interested LOL, and get myself a new one.. Now from what I have looked at, I want a loud BOV with great performance characteristcs :p and reasonable price.. I have found the Turbo-Xs H-RFL for a reasonable price and reviews of great sound but I wanna hear what you guys think a good BOV is?? I plan on running 15-18 psi on a Big 16g.. Can you help a newbie out?? I would appreciate if ya could give me the names and prices please thanks..

It's mainly just based on your preference of sound and what mods you have. The loudest production BOV (still current I hope) is the one from TurboXS. Look for vids of that on youtube.

i would go with a double vent. like the agency power. . its a direct bolt on and you get plumb back and vent. 200$. or go pimpin with the turbosmart double port. its 260$ plus adapter 50$. what iam getting to is if you still have the (mas) its not good, to not plumb back in to the system. it will do more worse then good . :talon:

Is this english?WTF

But yeah, just depends on what you like and what your goals are. 1g bov will probably suite you fine.:thumb: Of course you probably won't want to run that, so get an HKS SSQV if you're going after market, they are proven and can be recirculated, I run a type-s, and it works well too, and have also been proven. Good luck.

PS:OP, PM me for a price on the Tial, or if you are interested in a trade for a greddy type-s.

every hks ssqv bov that I have heard have been very loud and noticeable. trust me you will turn many heads with it.

Im running an RFL on my evo III 16g and i would say its one of the loudest iv heard. But like others have said it all depends on the sound your looking for. I would say just go on utube and search all the differnt bov that were stated and see what u like best.

YOU DONT RUN A BOV FOR SOUND.

Its not a sound device, its a well needed part in a high psi turbo system. Unless you run a speed density setup or a GM MAF setup, you are wasting your time looking for a BOV with a "cool sound".

The HKS SSQV, Greddy Type RS, and 1g BOV have all been proven to hold some good boost.

You don't speak for everyone. Me, I prefer nice sound AND performance. I like to hear my car work. Not everyone shares the same opinion, and I hate others trying to act like its one way or no way. :notgood:

I think he's just saying that you should prioritize performance over sound. With the majority of people's setups they need to be recirculated, which will hinder sound some. I know people like to hear their blow off valve's, and I'm sure most people will agree on that, but you shouldn't base your decision on only that factor. :thumb:

To the OP:

A: I don't see where you list a GM MAF-t setup or speed density conversion in your mod list. If so, you should be recirculating your BOV. Period.

B: You DO list a 255lph fuel pump, but I don't see an AFPR anywhere. You're overrunning your stock FPR. In other words, you're running rich all the time, as well as even richer in between shifts due to venting your BOV. You're also running 20+ psi on a 16g with no upgraded fuel injectors? What are you IDC's?

unless you got something to tune your car with recirculate that mofoco. you gonna be stalling out everything you boost and put the clutch in to stop....this im going back to HKS

The hks ssqv is the loudest and holds boost very well. Unless you want the sneeze sound, then go turboxs. The sound gets annoying though.

LOL I never said I was running 20+ psi ok fellas LOL I said my plans were to run 20+ psi so I bought the 12 psi spring with the Tial (22+ psi rated) but I am not there.. Yet:p.. I am running 12 psi right now and yes.. I have a B&M fuel pressure regulator.. Sorry for the confusion.. I am also planning on a GM Maft and all I need is the translator thats why I cant put on the Tial.. I am so sorry guys I got carried away!! I just want a good sounding BOV WITH good performance characteristics as well.. I know some of you think its cheesy and dumb cause the sound is what I want or what not but I am into sound too ha ha:cry: Thanks on the input guys really you guys rock:rocks: Feel free to put anything else

yea if you want a great sound and performance that will never get old. HKS SSQV. good luck man

i would have to agree with every up above me, hks is definately a safe bet as well as any greddy brand bov

Hks is a good bov if you want no leaks and wish to vent. Also if you can find a steel evo mr bov that will work just fine as well if you can find one for cheap or free. I am running an evo mr steel bov and it works like a charm and holds boost perfectly.

i love my HKS ssqv. i vent mine as well no problems stalling really and it does not leak at idle. only opens when it senses a difference in presser. its great for if your running really low boost or high boost

The B&M Command Flow is not a true AFPR. It doesn't get rid of the stock FPR's return orifice, which is the real problem. Nor does it allow you to decrease fuel pressure, which is required on our cars once the fuel pump is upgraded. Upgrading to a real AFPR (such as an Aeromotive) takes the stock FPR out of the equation.

The Tial BOV is probably the best on the market. I don't see why you would want to downgrade to a cheaper one simply because it doesn't "sound" good enough.

I used to run a 1G BOV but it was leaking at 17psi and rather than modify it I got the Synapse Engineering Synchronic BOV. I really like the Synchronic, it shows no signs of leaking during my tests up to 28psi and they claim it will hold 100psi. It also opens fast and the noise is just a loud solid wooosh. There is no stupid high pitch chirping or anything, just the manly woosh sound.

Synapse Engineering Synchronic BOV.

? What is it and where can I find it. Im currently running a type rs that held up to 25 psi, but now that I'm going with a bigger setup, I dont know if it will be able to support 30+ psi.
