id like to totally drain my engines coolant and would like to know exactly where the block drain plug is or if there is an easier way to totally drain the 4g63 coolant.

ummmm... why?

Completely draining the radiator and then flushing the sytem should be sufficient for normal cleaning. If you really want to get every drop of coolant out of the block for some reason, you're gonna have to go to the lowest point possible...which is probably the lower oil/water cooler line at the oil filter housing (although that's not really passing through the block). But you'll still have some coolant in the block, unless you pull the freeze plugs and pressurize the coolant passages to force out any remaining coolant.

Or, take the T-stat out, pull the drain plug out of the bottom of the radiator and shove a garden hose where the T-stat suppossed to be in as well turning up the temperature knob to hot in the car so the heater core can get flushed out as well..

And let 'er rip for a good 10 minutes or so..

But if you really want to flush out the radiator good, take the thing out completely and really power spray with the hose in both upper and lower hose connections. Amazing how much crud settles in the bottom of the radiator..

Good luck - DSM

the reason i want to do this is the cars been sitting for quite some time and id like to completely drain the engine and refresh it with some distilled water and new coolant. Isnt there a block drain? Also what is the total capacity of the coolant system?

I have a feeling that even if you did what Craig suggested that you still wouldn't get all the coolant out. When my brother and I pulled his engine, we still had coolant flowing out of the block even after turning it upside down a dozen times - it just keeps flowing out!!! I'd say just drain the radiator, fill the system up with water, run it for a bit, drain it, repeat if you want, and fill up with coolant.

Unless your motor has been buried in sand for a while, you should be just fine with draining and thoroughly rinsing the radiator, and then running a good coolant flush through the engine a couple of times, following the directions on the bottle.

As for coolant capacity, on your car (and mine for that matter) it is 7.2 liters (7.6 quarts), assuming a stock radiator.
