1G Blinkers

So I just replaced my rack and pinion on my 91 gs eclipse and when I put everything back together and test drove it I realized like all my blinkers came on but they didn’t flash same with my flashers they came on but didn’t flash does anyone have idea what I could’ve f***ed up on it

Squished (shorted to ground) a wire during replacement?

So the wire should be where the rack and pinion is I’m guessing I don’t know really much about these cars I just getting into them. So I just let my car cool off for a lil bit and before I started the engine I turned the car on and the blinkers and flashers where working until I started my engine.
