I just recieved a set of revised lifters (with 3MM oil port) and i tryed to bleed them and couldnt get them to compress at all, i managed to get one to compress by putting a paper clip on it then wrapping it in a rag and leaning on it. i was wondering if this is normal or do i have a screwed up batch, the Vfaq says to push lightly on them to compress them so i dont know what i should do about this.

thanks ahead.

Solution
You don't need to lean on them. You have to make sure the paper clip is hitting the "button" that is in there, which will allow them to compress. You might need to move the paper clip around a little bit to find it, but it's there and should be easy to find.
ahhh now its makes a bit more sense, i was wondering why i could feal a sort fo check valve opening but no oil comming out, i didnt know there was a release at the end of the lifter, thanks i will have to try this tomorrow after work since i finally got the car running right again.turns out when my buddy jumped the timing a tooth it kicked a rocker off the lifter on #1 cylinder on the intake side which cause the car to sputter and fart at 5500 ish, after fixing many boost leaks i happen to find this by luck with no other damage to cams or springs (supprinsing for almost 30K (kilometers). thanks again

The last time my car kicked a rocker i had a bent valve, that was 2 months ago due to a failed lifter.I got the topline non ticks from extreme psi and had to do a head job again LOL.But yeah the little check valve is in there just takes some feeling aroung before you feel it,then you can callapse the the lifter with two fingers.
