My stock clutch is going out and I need to replace my TOB, so I thought it be about time to get a new clutch. My Hp goal is 350, so I want to buy the clutch now that I will need for that. I was just about to get a ACT 2600 with street disc, but I thought if a 2100 is all I'm going to need, why dish out the extra cash? So what do you guys think?

If you're going to push more than 350 then I would get the 2600. I'd dish out the extra money to be safe though. You don't want to shoot yourself in the foot later on.

i run the street disc and its my dd and i take it to the track. any lightened flywheel will do. You can usually find the clutch kit with flywheel for a good price.

Should you replace your flywheel when upgrading your clutch?

It's not about what your intended hp but the torque. I'd say 2100 w/ street disc is good enough and since your clutch is going out your flywheel probably needs to be resurface so you might as well get a lightened flywheel.

No, but I would anyways. If you don't then you'll have to get your stock flywheel stepped and surfaced. That can cost close to what a new flywheel costs so why not just get it. You can get a package deal usually to help save a few bucks. I got my ACT 2600 with street disc and XACT flywheel at a good price from JNZ tuning.

What would you say would be the best flywheel to get. I was thinking Fidanza.

I'm still not set on which clutch I'm going to get. I want to save money, but want a longer lasting clutch. It's between an ACT 2100 and 2600 right now.

The 2600 has a hard pedal effort not made for daily driving in traffic. I use the Centerforce duel friction its like a 2500 it holds 390lbs of torque. It feels like the stock clutch an doesnt chatter. with the duel friction disk it enguages like a street dick but grabs like a 6 puck. One side on the flywheel side is a street dick look an the other side to the trans is a 6 puck style. An I run mine with a act flywheel 11lbs. I tried the fidanza 8lbs flywheel, but didnt like it super fast spool up but no torque. the act is just a thenth sec slower on spool up but its got weight to it for torque. You can really feel the difference between them like night an day.

Hahahaha, i just read this and NEEDED to say something. This post made my day. Can't blame spell check on that one...LOL ROFL

Oh and to be on topic, is there a particular reason for choosing ACT? If price is a big factor then I believe the fidanza clutches are cheaper, but I haven't read anything on the quality on them. Anyone running one?

The 2600 is good i had one, not hard do daily drive not much different than a stock clutch as far as pressure. Yeah you can get the clutch and flywheel as a kit and save money. I actually have an ACt2600 and ACT Streetlight flywheel i culd sell you but they are used. The clutch has about 9K miles on it and the flywheel has about 700 miles.

Like other posters have mentioned, a 2600 with the performance street disc is the way to go. The part number is MB010X.

Yeah, all my dsm buddies run act clutches, so I figured thats what I'll go with. But does anyone have any info on Fidanza?

I had a 2600 on my old GST and the pedal effort was crazy hard for stret driving in stop and go traffic.. The 2100 has an easy pedal feel, but mine is already going out on me.. Not so good.

I have never ran Fidanza. They appear to be re-branded parts from Competition Clutch.

I've ran the ceramic 6 puck from CC and it was pretty nice.

I have Fidanza 4.3 ceramic clutch. It's awesome and will hold more torque than the ACT 2600.

WTF... Fidanza is not a re-branded Competition Clutch. Fidanza is a really high performance manufacturer of flywheels and clutch. Don't base what you think by just picture similarities. JM Fab SMIM aren't re-branded by Venom just because they look the same.

Really? Take a look at the photos and product descriptions. The Fidanza ceramic 6 puck and Carbon-Kevlar clutches are clones of Competition Clutch units.

Your post is misleading.
You are comparing a 6 puck ceramic to a full face organic, when you combine the
"2600" pressure plate with ACT's 6 puck, torque capacity is 513 lb/ft.

No they don't.....

You bad mouth everything you don't have. I saw you post about Comp Turbo and Fidanza rebrand. Comp is not manufacturer by Comp Performance. It's a no-name brand that supposedly has a triple ball-bearing turbo.

?????????

I say a 2600 w/ street disk.. Flywheel choice i can't advise on since i don't have any experience with installing any on a DSM, I've ridden in and tuned a couple with light flywheels, but have no idea what brand or anything.

I have a GS-T and have smoked a 2100 on several occasions when shifting into third gear on a hard run, and that's on my street settings of around 18-20psi and somewhere around 330 or more horses (i made the 332 in my avatar on about my 14th pull back to back, so it's probably around 350hp on average)

If you get the 2100, get the 6 puck disk for it, that's the best way to make a lighter clutch hold higher loads because with the small surface area more pressure is on what surface is there compared to spreading it out over a full face street disk.

I know a couple of people that even run the centerforce dual friction model and it has awesome pedal feel and I've watched my friend Andy launch his 1g AWD and spin all 4 tires a couple times in a row without the clutch giving out on him.

Do some research before you post listing. Fidanza is not a re-brand Competition Clutch even if they have similar specs and the pictures clearly look different if that's all you're basing your assumption on. And 4.3 holds 557 lb/ft.
