ok so i thought i had this done.... well i replaced the waterpump pulley and it stopped throwing belts!!!! but now after a week of driving it is squeeling when i first start it for a mintue or so and randomly, when it squeels the volts drop so i am thinking it is something with the alternator now obviously. any opinions? i was going to just replace it anyways but figured id ask first!

Well if its tight, then replace it and see how it does. Also look at your pulleys while idling, making sure one of them isnt wobbling or off kilter.
I had to snug my alternator belt up pretty damn tight though, are you sure its not a bit loose?

Keeping the belt too tight will ruin the bearing, seen it happen too many times. Check to see if you have the correct tension by checking in your manual for the specs. If you can take the alternator out, free spin the pulley and check to see if it's binding or making noises. It shouldn't be doing either.

It's been my experience that the little four groove serpentine belts always need to be retightened after the first week. They become slightly loose after the belt becomes seated into the pullies. If you retighten it before the belt becomes completely burned out, it should be fine for the normal service life of the belt after that.

trust me its tight

If it is squealing, then you don't have it tightened enough. You have to tighten it much more than you would think. A technician that I used to work with said the general rule of thumb is find the longest point on the belt between two pulleys. Twist it either way, and it should take a decent bit of effort to make the belt twist a quarter turn. Yes, if you over-tighten it will ruin the bearing, but it squeals when it's too loose. Trust me, it's not tight enough.
