Well turns out my head gasket is not bad so I bolted back on the im and em now I need to put back on the vc and all the other small parts and get me a radiator and new belt and mounts and I should be good for a little while. The thing is I am tired of this car and wish it had a better motor.

Hey I just read through six pages of posts of you working on this car. No way can you give up on her at this point. I say suck it up and fix her right. You should know that car inside and out by now. Good luck and keep fixing.

Maybe your right I should tear it all apart and build it up.
I just wish I had some help not very many guys are into dsm's around here and the few that are well they are a bunch of a**ho!3s and the other are into domestics.

Certifit here in Oklahoma (405-686-0000 tell them 97-99 eclipse) The headlights are a PITA to find. I found some on craigslist in Dallas for $65 usually they run $150ish a piece sales the 2gb bumper covers dirt cheap. I think i got mine for around $45.00 Its worth the drive if you ask me. If you were closer Id come help get that420a back on the road. I miss the elbow room under the hood when working on these compared to my TSI

Certifit is the cheapest($45 to $60) but you can always get it from Ebay(130 shipped) or the DSMTuner/Talk classifieds(???).

Man your making me want to hop in the awd and head down to TX sucks If your having frustrations with the 420a I wouldnt be wanting a turbo model oh lord how I miss the engine bay room and the ease or working on the NT cars.

I swapped enough motors in the 2 years I owned my 99gs I bet I could do one In and out in about 2 hours.

How far are you from Blanchard OK 73010?? mapquest it! Let me know. It might be worth the drive to bring ya a nice new 2gb bumper from certifit. Im picking mine up wednesday. They are niiiiice. Hey btw did you paint the car yourself? It turned out nice

Thanks me and my dad painted it in his garage at his home in colorado.
Took us about a week working on it a few hours each night. Kind of did it in a rush since I was on vacation and had to be back to work the next week.

Well I decided that I am just going to take the whole block apart and rebuild it from the bottom up. As you can see it is not running good. Atleast I know when it is rebuilt it would have all new parts and run pretty good.

might I suggest fixing the timing before a rebuild? I mean it took a year the last time. Im seriously thinking about driving down to amarillo if its within reason.. I had the 99GS I owned 1 tooth off and it ran like poopshit.

I willl do that and also I bought myself a compression tester.

Did a compression test. I have a vac leak some where and need to fix that and I fixed the timeing and need to get new spark plugs and see if it runs any better.
