the trans on my eclipse was leaking fluid. WTFand the engine was hot as sh!* and smokeing but my temp gauge was inbetween hot and cold, so i do not know wtf happend with that.

Today i was driveing down the highway and my car started to slow down and i noticed that the rpms would not go down.
This is an automatic by the way.
I came to a stop light, but when the light turned green i punched the gas and i was going into high rpms and the car would go really slow.
I looked at the car when i got home it looks as if it was leaking fluid where the trans is connected with the engine.
Do you think it is the gasket or it would not make a difference with the rpms not shifting? What could it be?

Does any one know if the oil seals would cause the trans to not shift into gear?
I just looked at the transmission and i see oil all over it.

It sounds like you have a torque converter problem.

I don't know much about automatics but if you have an oil leak coming from the same area as the tranny then it's either your main seal or torque converter leaking ..
sence your car has problems shifting then ill put my money on the torque converter.

Tearing it apart for the winter. Dang head gasket is bad and busted radiator.
The trans mounts are all busted up to heck.
My jack is not good and I need it to lift up the car and to lift up the motor so I can take out the mounts. Wish I had help this is my first time doing this.

Well I worked on the car some more today.
Looks like I need a new belt.
Took off a few things. Took off the tb today.
I am not sure what I want to with the tb maybe I will get one from a jeep
and make it fit. I got sprayed with fuel dang fr had a small amount left in it.
Now I need to get a jack and take off the motor mount.
I am just wondering how the heck I will take off the exhaust pipe.

Well I got some more done today.
Pulled out more wires and the radiator.
I am an idiot I for got to drain out the oil
It was cold out side so that is all I got done for now.

I am thinking of geting a 421 header and other stuff later on.
Looks like I need a new belt and I will take the head to a machine shop.
I was thinking of going turbo but I don't have the cash right now
so maybe in the future I will add one.
The v/c I will repaint I am thinking silver/gunmetal or jet black.

Looks good edm. You should get a 2gb front bumper, they are cheap nowadays.

Well since your car is down anyway, miz well tear it apart....Put the stock tais back on, and find a center peice. Have you gotten any further on the teardown?

Just found out the water pump is bad and I might have bad rings.
Now I am thinking if I should fix the car or see if I can find another motor.

Took off some more parts now I am not sure if I want to paint these black or make them all shiney like.
Maybe I will just do that jeep t/b upgrade if I can find one at a junk yard.
I am about to order me a 421 header soon can't wait and some other parts.

It's a long process man it took me a few weeks to get mine fully done but it is well worth it when you are finished.
