Ive looked around on this forum but could not find an exact answer to my situation.

Earlier this evening while driving on the freeway my 2g would randomly shut off for about 1 sec, and then turn on (gauges, radio, etc). it would do that about once every 20 min, although once I was about to exit the freeway, it was continuous, about every 2-3 seconds. When my RPM's were up it would allow the car to stay running, but once the clutch went in at a stop light, it would just shut off.

In order to keep the car running when at a stop light I would have to give it gas.
Once I was able to park it, I popped the hood and noticed the battery (+) terminal touching the sway bar.

I figured this was the cause of the short.

I went to work and let the car rest for a few hours, once I came back the car turned on with no problems, and a perfect idle.

Although, once DRIVING the car again, the car once again continued to stall at every red light UNLESS the gas is being pressed.

Any idea what the problem can be?
My battery is reading 13.4v

I'm wondering if it could be a new battery that is needed to solve the problem?
or possibly the alternator was shorted out as well?

Before I purchase either of these I was curious if anyone else had a problem like this and might have some advice/tips.

Did you tie down the battery in any way after noticing it was touching? If not then it's just bouncing around and shorting out randomly.

Gofer: Yeah I removed the strut tower brace, just incase it rubs again. The problem is still occurring, currently I am checking the ground connections.

I checked the 100a fuse as well, its fine not blown.

later today i'll take the battery to auto zone for testing.

I checked on link to see if any DTC's occur that might be able to help but had no luck, is their a way that link might be able to help find the problem that i'm missing?
