I just have 2 quick questions regarding the swap.

1. how many driveshaft brackets are there to cut out?

2. for the AWD fuel tank connectors (what do I cut out of the AWD car) I want to know the exact place to cut.

Thanks.

I'mnot allowed to tell you to search but this info is in EVERY thread about the swap there is (and i'm not trying to be a d1ck either just to be clear)

BUT, 2 brackets

nothing for the tank comes out except the tank, it's straps, guard and the filler neck pieces. the mounting tuds you build from scratch. read any of the threads about it, especially the long one or the one article that's linked to in about every AWD conversion thread and it's all there plain as day word by word (again, not being rude but these are the two most basic things covered in any swap thread LOL )

Also, if you're handy with a welder, and can make 2 little posts for the front exhaust hanger its WAY wasier to weld new studs in the front driveshaft carrier piece than to drill the spot welds off the one on the AWD and your FWD just to swap them over to gain 2 14mm bolts and 2 posts to help hang exhaust.

the rear d-shaft bracket is best to be cut from the donor and welded in the project car as the parts aren't there already like they are for the front bracket (but i just hate drilling out spot welds so that's why i am the way i am about the front one)

remember to weld the tanks rear bolts/studs in BEFORE putting the rear AWD subframe into place also

and on the front AWD subframe bolts (the ones you move) make sure to weld heads for a socket to them or weld large enough tabs to keep them from spinning in the frame hole they go in and i mean weld big ones on there, mine were an inch long and still spun LOL

follow both plugs untill they go into one harness then give yourself some extra inches of slack to work with and cut there, that's what i did and i have the GSX harness now spliced into the gst harness clean as if it were a stock gsx, no ghetto extra off coored wires or anything.

it's super easy

Thanks man!

I finished today. I just need to put it all in the GST now, well after I clean it up.

2 things though...

The tank shield was so rusted it like broke (do I need one)?

And the rear diff is an AUTO LSD (can I use that for a 5 speed)?

Thanks

You definitely want a tank sheild man the tank itslef is plastic, as for the auto lsd Im not sure but good luck and welcome to club=)
