My 93 tsi currently is only fwd, the transfer case is good so im just trying to figure out why the rear wheels arent spinning. Just trying to see if anyone has experienced this before and what the causes are.

Well if it is from a launch or whatever its not from me. I havent even had the car on the road yet. I think the previous owner said he towed it with a car dolly but he took the driveshaft out. Would that screw up the center diff?

If you are questioning the fact the he may or may not have done it right, chances are it was not. Towing it on a dolly like so would definitely do some damage. Poor car.

I thought it was the tranfer case originally so i bought one off of my friend and threw it in there, without even checking the old one. Yesterday took it for a test ride and got back and checked the t case i pulled out and it was in perfect working order. And actually im the one that towed it on a dolly with the driveshaft out, I just said it was him at first because i didnt want to get bashed on for doing it.

Where can i get a welded center diff and how hard is it to put in?
Im mechanically inclined and i have a few friends who have built numerous dsm's from the ground up.
