i am just curious about everybody else automatic shift points? i have been moding my new automatic 2g project over the past month and i have notice something kind of interesting. every time i add something to make more power i knotice that at wot my shift points are getting closer to redline. right now my car shift at wot around 6800rpm when the car was bone stock it would shift at around 6200rpm! i dynoed the car about three weeks ago and made 182hp 189tq with evoIII 16g boost set @ 9psi! i thought what the heck ,since i had this turbo sitting here at the house i decided to go ahead and put it on. everything else is stock! ;) with the addition of the turbo my shift point went up to around 6500rpm! i have recently added hks 264in and 264ex cams, 3"stainless downpipe , egt guage and boost guage, 550cc injectors and super afc. i still am running the stock catback with stock muffler, stock uicp,, stock bov, stock everything else. those things will be upgraded soon. with these upgrades my shift point is now 6800rpm running 12psi of boost ;) i had an appointment with the dyno , but the dyno guy forgot our appointment and never showed up :coy: but anyway my question is at what point is your auto tranny shifting@wot just curious?

Let me know what you dyno in at with all the mods.. im very curious.
i will let you know! i am curious myself because the car pulls really hard! 12psi is all that i will be running because i need to get a logger and a fuel pump! i am going to see if i can get up there today :thumb:

okay just came back from the dyno and i am satisfied with the numbers considering that i was only running 11.5 psi ;) and no tunning what so ever! i will post the dyno sheet when the dyno place email them to me but here is my new numbers

214.5HP 220.1TQ :thumb: remind you i am only running 11.5 psi, stock catback, stock uicp, stock bov, stock air filter and box, stock turbo inlet pipe, stock side mount stock fuel pump!!

the things i have change so far from my 1990awd is

turbo evo16g
3"downpipe nopi #1 downpipe
injectors lucas 550cc
super afc
egt guage\
boost guage
hks 264 in 264ex

just to let you all know i tried to turn up the boost to about 14psi, when i did the car lost about 27hp! suspect (stock fuel pump) so we turned it back down to 11.5psi. the most boost i can run with the other stock parts IMO! so i gain 32HP and 32lbs of TQ with the addition of the cams and downpipe! the car really pull hard down low and up high. so in the mean time i will be working on replacing the other stock parts starting first off with the fuel pump :sneaky: my goal is about 280whp with the evo III :thumb:

i thought about that but i was told that with a walbro 190 i wouldn't need one

My bad, I didn't see where you put you were gonna use a 190'. I just figured a 255.

I don't really mean to highjack your thread, but I felt this question is kind of related. As some of you may or may not have read I am probably trading cars with a 95 automatic. Anyway, this car has cams so I could raise to rev limit to 8500, which I will do. But, I was wondering, how would you get the tranny to shift that high? leave it in L and 2 for 1st and 2nd? But then what about 3rd and 4th?

nice numbers. . im curious to see what i would dyno at with the t25. . still on and my current mods.

how do u like the cams power? thinking of gettin some when i do my 6bolt build up next year might go toward comp cams tho.

turboback, UICP, bov, supra side mount, fuel pump. . you looking close to 320-340 with no problem

First, cams do not allow you to rev higher. They make more power at higher revs. If you are still running stock valve springs and retainers, DO NOT raise your rev-limit. That is unless you feel like replacing bent valves when they float on you. And the tiny TB and intake doesn't help your bigger cams any. Most of your gain at the dyno was from the downpipe more than likely.

Second, I have seen that the exhaust plays a big role in the shift point on lightly modded ATs. 14b on a 2g with UIC and 1g BOV and car would tap the rev-limit for a few seconds before shifting. With exhaust unbolted and later a 3" full exhaust and the car shifted close to 6500 or so. The exhaust is choking you down on your dyno runs more than a fuel pump. But, with the free flowing exhaust will come higher boost levels and power which makes a fuel pump upgrade even more of a requirement.

I would upgrade your exhaust completely and the fuel pump and see what she does from there.

 I can't tell you how many threads I've read saying people with stock springs/retainers holding to 8500. I WILL raise the rev limit as I feel safe.

How is 32 HP + torque possible with only cams and DP  The bigger turbo might be adding a bit because at 11.5 lbs its no doubt pushing a cooler charge than stock turbo. Are you running a TP?

Did you do a fuel pump re-wire and have you found out why you were limited to 11.5 lbs?

*Are the shift points corresponding and changing as the peak HP points change?

the cams really makes a huge difference especially down low! when the car gets to about 3200 rpm the power really come on all the way to redline! the idle qaulity is just as good as stock its not lumpy at all! overall well worth the investment :thumb:

first off when i had the 32hp gain all i did was put a downpipe and install 262 264 cams! this was with the same turbo and same boost setting! fuel pump at that time was stock! could not go over 11.5 because of the stock bov! but since then i have added a few things!

1g bov
jp boost controller
190 fuel pump
and 17 psi of boost
no tunning and still running stock muffler and catback!! here are the new numbers
