automatic transmission shift points

so i have been having some issues with my transmission. it's a A/T if you press on the gas pedal lightly it will shift properly, but if you want to take off quick it wont change gears untill it hits 5,000 rpm!!, is this a vacuum problem?? the fluid is good and it has a bottle of Lucas in there and still.

Check the tps for proper adjustment.

That's a good thing, the way it's supposed to work. The faster you tell the TCU to accelerate the longer it will hold each gear and shift higher in the power band.

Drive like a blue hair and the TCU will shift at low RPM and save gas. Go to full throttle and hold there and the car will shift at 7000 RPM.

At WOT my Talon will shift at 7K, to 2nd at 40 MPH, to 3rd at 70 MPH, and in Montana where my Avatar was taken, to 4th at 110 MPH.
