This is kind of a simple question. Basicaly I was reading up on stroking or not and they talk about 2.0 being able to rev way higher. Basically is anyone with an auto reving alot higher... are you shifting at higher rpms? If you are how are u doing it? did you reprogram something or just going from l - 2 - d - od by hand? Please someone shed some light on this for me.

Either by hand or using IPT's shift box. You'll find the 1-2 shift takes a little longer than the 2-3. I use a standard Proform shift light to help with the 1-2, moving the lever at about x rpm, the transmission completing the shift by x+700 rpm or so. E.g.: 1-2 shifted my 2.0 at 7500 rpm w/shifts completing at roughly 8200 rpm. Since the 2-3 shift occurs when the engine isn't reving as quickly, the 2-3 shift can be done with a bit more precision.

I *am* shifting the 2.4 a little sooner, but not much, and since I haven't gotten it to the track yet, all I can say is 7700/7800 rpm is the max so far....

how do i know when to start shifting at higher RPMS? and how do i know what rpms to shift at when it is higher?

The way I was explained it, the shift doesn't take any longer from 1-2 but rather with the shorter gearing the engine revs faster than it does in second. Just thought I'd share :coy: :)
