2G auto turbo on 5 speed

The last guy that worked on my car said I had a smaller turbo than normal on my 99 gst spyder.he said it looked like the turbo from an automatic.

What I wanted to know was will there be any negative effects to the car from running this turbo? Are there any adjustments that have to be made?

He must be thinking of the 1G models that ran a 13g on auto's instead of the 14b. all 2G's ran the T25 from the factory IIRC. You should be fine.


You can run the 13g on a 1g-manual too, just has a lower boost limit.

Ill try and get s pic of it. The engine is not the original engine and the turbo is one I bought w a manifold from a friend of a friend.

There are two different T25's used on 2G's between auto and manual cars (MR187909 and MR187910), but the only difference is in the turbine housing a/r and would never be visible to the naked eye.

Even if you somehow have a 13G from an automatic 1G on your car, it is still nearly the same size as a 2G T25...so you're good.
