I just bought a 91 Plymouth Laser RS turbo a couple days ago for 400 bucks. It ran like crap but all i did was put new spark plugs in and it runs like a champ again. The tranny slips every now and then though.

Could this be fixed completely or partially by changing all the tranny fluid to new stuff or do you think I have a more serious problem? New torque converter maybe?

I am just using this as a winter beater but i would like the tranny to work well so I can stomp on some civic @$$ every now and then. :laser:

Have you checked your fluid? Do the routine maintanence to your car then hit us back. I recommend flushing the tranny and changing the filter. That could be your problem.

the fluid might need to be changed. autos are really tricky though. there is a grate that acts as a filter in the trans as well. clean that out when you drain the fluid. If it still slips...its probably going to just get worse and thats a trans. concern. good luck.

u can find trannys for a 1g on ebay for $300-$400 , might as well buy a new one vs. rebuilding one. Just get one from a reputable ebayer
