arp head studs

picked up a set or arp head studs for 60 bucks.... just wondering how do i put them in.

I assume you have ## head off?

Anyways finger tighten the studs into the block. Make sure the allen wrench side is sticking up. No oil or lube on the block side. Install NEW head gasket. Install head and use the lube supplied with the studs on the thread side sticking up. (if none was supplied then use moly lube from an auto parts store). install washers and torque the nuts each to 30ft/lbs (use torque wrench, VERY important) in the correct order (See pic). Then 60ft/lb, the 80lb.

What about with the head still on and stock HG. One by one method...

Same method as above except you do them one by one. Depending on how many miles are on the car, I'd replace the gasket right away just for peace of mind.

I have 58 and some change on it. Should I still change the HG. I have to do the timing belt too soon..

you have to take the head off and replace your head gasket. No matter what. And Replace your timing belt

i have an ARP head stud stuck in the block, how should i remove it because that allen key is gonna strip out

put two nuts on and tighten them together. Then undo the stud by turning the bottom nut..

No arps should be fine. should not take much tq to get it out..

IMO...spend the extra time and money and do the head gasket and timing belt now. You won't regret it later, trust me.
