Its a little weird that they have no rhd dsm's but they have rhd GTO's.

DSM's were made in normal IL, 3000gt's, stealth's, and gto's were made in Nagoya Japan.
This is all honda talk anyway. They can't believe that a USDM car can ever be as cool as a JDM car. I guess that the Viper's, and ZR1 Vette's we send to japan are cooler than the ones here. We can't help it that honda sends shit cars to the US and keeps less crappy cars for their domestic market. Although anyone who thinks a 1.8 liter n/a engine is an upgrade doesn't have a clue.

whats so wow about dont be an ass

im just wondering about the dsm's in japan i know the ones here in the states were made in IL

dsm in japan 1g called GSR 4 and not gsx and 95-99 models have the same shape as the 95-96 models , no difference in the bumpers and spoilers at all. 95-99 same shape exactly. this eclipse that i own now is my third eclipse, i have imported so many eclipses from japan and i could never found a GSX 2g. trust me i tried iam afraid there is no gsx in japan 2g.

the japanes cars are left hand drive and they have 180 km speed meter.

Don't you have to do 195kph for the cops to not chase you?

Hey rayban, I bet you feel like white trash driving a 2g in dubai huh? (not to be mean or anything)

you bet :) sometimes i really feel so when passing next to lambos and ferraris , did i mention also the mclareans and the bugatis.

but really in dubai even the extreme is not extreme here , if you have ferrari here they will not even look at you , there are so many cars here more expensive and more beautiful than a ferrari so how about 2g :D;)

at least im not driving honda or toyota corrolla ROFL

They were built in Normal, IL, then exported to other places in the world such as Europe. They also have the EU Domestic market DSMs in their NON-Turbo version featured the 4g63 Mitsu engine and not the 420A Chrysler engine.

I'm guessing what happened was they were all built here in il, then some were shipped off to other countries & final assembly was done there, ie emblems, vin #'s, etc.....

I have a JDM 2G. I have no idea where it's assembled, but all labels are in Japanese, turn signals are yellow, speed is in kmph and ends at 180 (speed limit removed by previous owner) and it has ECU that none of the regular DSMs have. Vin is also like D32A.... not in the usual form.

The steering wheel is in the same side as in USA and Europe.

I think there were other places of manufacturing DSM's. For example the european DSMs (like mine) have vin numbers look like this - 4MBMND32AXE******... So M stands for Mercury i think and that should be another factory I guess. And do you see the D32 in the vin? :)

A quick guess - maybe you have seen Mitsubishi FTO which is right hand drive only?

And just to tease you guys - this is a picture of my speed gauge reading 240 km/h in action :) (actually it is scaled to 250 if you look closely)

So this means I can actually get a speedo that goes beyond 180, reads in kmh and still has boost gauges, oil press gauges like the regular DSMs? Which models have them?

[rimshot]Could be true, seeing that they rust way faster than other 4G63 cars like Galants which were European or Japanese[/rimshot] :D

They also have no Emissions equipment from factory. And yes, there were no AWD 2G Eclipses in Japan and even the later years had 95/96 styling.

Well built DSM will give McLaren F1 a run for its money :D

This was from the N/A Model so it has no boost gauge. On the left there are the water temp. and the oil pressure an on the right is the fuel level gauge. But it is fine because I have aftermarket boost gauge.
Also the CEL looks something like this

2G Speedo goes to 270km/h :thumb:
I want this. Where can I get one of those. Or do you have it's part nr or at least your VIN so I can look it up...?

ok i just was tell someone that dsm is not a jdm thats why they arnt called jdm cause there not imported or anything am i right?

Is every question you ever post just plain stupid?

All the DSMs were built in Illinois. No right-hand drive versions were made. The FTO is not a DSM, nor is it similar to them. The Price Sheet on mine says 70% Domestic Content, making it an American car. The Mitsubishi engines and transmissions came from Japan and were installed in Normal. The Chrysler engines and transmissions are American.
A Japanese firm made a gullwing door conversion on the 1G. A German firm made a Targa 1G conversion. I know of none that made it to the US.

These questions have all been extensively discussed, argued about and answered before.
