like.... 1st gear- 30
2nd- 55
3rd-80

just an example...

I wanna see if I redlined when I dropped to 2nd gear from 45 mph

thanks

Well i do not know the exact speeds for the gears and it depends on mods but i have a stock GSX and if i dropped from 3rd to 2nd at 45 MPH i would not redline. Redline in 2nd gear is at or about 60 MPH. So im pretty sure you didnt redline either. :thumb:

Also, not sure if it's the same for the 2G, but the 1G GS-T and GSX gear ratios are different. One more reason the GS-Ts can actually get to 28mpg or better; cruising at 65 in fifth at around 2500, as opposed to 3K for the GSX.

My tach is broken so I know how it is. However, I played GT4 and got a rough estimate of what it should be for a GVR4, then compared that to my first gen N/T and they were quite similar. So for my 1g GST, I follow this:
1st to 2nd: 40mph - Though I recommend shifting earlier (30-35) because I don't know where 40 lies on the TACH
2nd to 3rd: 60mph
3rd to 4th: 85-90mph still not extremely sure about that one
and I don't know 4th to 5th, but I expect it to be about 110-120mph, anywhere in that range, though I don't ever do that, anything over 80 is 5th gear for me.

First of all....you should never use a video game to learn something about your car.
2nd of all....you're saying you can go up to 40 mph in 1st gear?

First of all, I said I CHECKED IT WITH MY N/T! That way I know it is somewhat accurate. And I didn't use a video game to learn something about my car, I was just mentioning how similar it was. I'm not going to go learn how to drift a car on NFSU and then go out and try to do it. Come come now...
Yes I'm saying you can go to 40mph in 1st gear, though I highly advise against it because I'm not sure where it is RPM wise, I shift from 30-35 when pushing it. Here, I'll edit that in my post for you, so that you won't have to try to rip on me.
