Need to know what each gear tops out at

i recent received a ticket for speeding funny thing is the cop didn't have the radar up and swears i was speeding i know i wasn't i was in third gear with a pretty much stock setup at the time. I was wondering if anyone knew a website that would have this type of info thank you.

Each gear goes up about 30mph before redline in my car. I'm sure it is a little longer but this is about right for me. And cops don't have to scan or show you their radar for you to get a ticket, sometimes they are just jerks, but if you were in third gear you could have easily been speeding.

1st 0-30mph
2nd 30-60mph
3rd 60-90mph
etc etc

When I raced my 96 GSX at the track, I left it in third gear instead of switching to fourth at the end of the track. I went a bit over redline, but I remember it being right near 90. Something like 14.8@ 90mph, nearly stock.

In my fwd 2g 1st comes out at 40mph 2nd at 65mph 3rd at 105mph 4th at 135mph and 5th idk.

Fight the ticket. If he didn't get you on radar he doesn't have as much of a case. Just tell them that you were going with the flow of traffic. Wait was this the top of third gear on the highway or on a regular road?

well i was in thrid in a 50 mile and hour zone my point is my car would of ben screaming and i forgot to metion that im my own wastegate i added a 3inch exhaust and have creep i cant really go beond 4k rpms at 4k im pushing 12lbs not to metion my exhaust gets super loud and it was state cop that pulled me over and would of given me a ticket for the noise

Well I don't know if you can get out of it completely but you can probaly get it reduced. He pulled you over because you were doing an acceleration in a loud sportscar. He knows that you were trying to go fast, instead of just not realizing your speed. If you can't get out of it then you can always use the 7 cent trick to avoid a surcharge.

Where do you get your info from? My car, when it was stock, would not do 80 in 2nd or 110 in 3rd. I know this from experience at the drag strip, as I mentioned earlier. GSX's do not have a speed limiter. I believe a GS-T is geared differently than GSX, so it may be different, I've never owned a FWD DSM.

Ya, 110 in third seems pretty ridiculous on my fwd I was at red line by about 95 at the strip. And 80 in second seems crazy, just me 2cents.

The 7 cent rule works in california, they have to mail you a refund check and you gotta cash/deposit it before they can apply it to ## driving record, but you'll be clear with the state, not having a outstanding balance.

DSM insurance is cheap when you dont have any tickets.

We're talking about a dsm, not a corvette...

In my personal experience, all 1g, 1st is about 30-35, 2nd= 60-65, 3rd=90-95, 4th=120ish.

2nd to 80 how much whp do you make.

Mine does around 35mph in 1st, 60mph in 2nd, 3rd at 7200 rpm it does 90mph and this was on the dyno my car dynoed at 330 whp. I have never taken 4th to redline.

^^ those sound more realistic at stock redline. I traped 86 in the 6grand RPM range. can't see it hitting 100 + before redline (don't laugh at my trap, she was all stock dammit )

Have it saved on your computer and just copy and paste when its needed.. just leave the space blank for the name..

2g will go to 40 if you take it to 7400 rpm but you cannot go to 80 by any means and surely not 105 thats just crazy talk.

horse power does not make a differense in how fast you can go in each gear.. the gear ratio stays the same
