Anti-lag vs recirculating??

Can someone explain the difference between Anti-lag not using an ignition delay and recirculating the BOV and/or wastegate? Or is this essentially the same thing? I don't want my wastegate dumped into the atmosphere and I'm not sure how the previous owner had the BOV. I think it may have been dumped to the atmosphere so I want to fix that anyways. Thanks in advance.
 
The ignition delay setup just seems too hard on the engine and seems like it kills drive-ability.

I'm not sure you fully understand the point of antilag. It's not constantly active. The only time you would be using antilag is off the line or between shifts (which is VERY hard on the drivetrain).

I guess not, I thought with the ignition delay it was a constant deal.

But that's why I'm asking about the ALS, I know I'm going to experience a lot of lag. I would like to spool the turbo reasonably quickly.
 
If you get your fuel enrichment right and your rpm in link when using anti-lag you can set your car to a mild launch and not risk breaking as much. As long as you don't get carried away with it and build high boost and launch at 6k it wont be as hard on parts. Ive set my antilag up in the past just high enough to get over the bog but not squat so hard my rear bumper touches the ground. It was reliable and consistent but again it can be hard on an exhaust wheel. Just play around with it and see what works for you, try to get familiar with slipping the clutch a little during a launch.
 
Those were both options I was going to play around with on v3 when I got the new setup together and running. I'm looking at a wiring nightmare. There is a lot of crap splices and things like the Innovative wide band that I'm not even sure are hooked up right.

Damn, I already sold my 16g :ohdamn: But that would require smaller injectors and that seems more trouble than it's worth just to change setups.

Turbo size has nothing to do with injectors if you're running a tuning solution that can control them. I have 1000's on one of my cars that only otherwise has free mods, a 3" turboback, and Link V3 full. I actually gained 2-3 mpg over the stock 450's when I made the switch. Your VE and fuel tables dictate how rich or lean the car is under normal driving conditions and boost, the injector scaling takes care of the rest.

So it wouldn't be that asinine/ difficult to have two setups?

Well is there anyway other than an ALS to help spool my turbo faster other than 2 step off the line?
