Alt. fuse blows

My alt fuse keeps blow every time i connect my neg. battery any ideas why...

All i did was un screw and screw back the cable on the back of the alternator...and inspect big black plug on th top of the alternator....anyone.

I have put in 3 new fuses and every time i touch the neg. terminal it arcs and smokes and blows the fuse right away

The alt. charging wire where it`s attached to the lug at the alternator is making contact with a ground somewhere, possibly as a result of when you removed/disturbed it to check it. Disconnect the battery & check the charging wire - make sure it doesn`t touch anything . . .

Took a look at it this morning and saw a few strands sticking out so i taped'em up and backed out the 2nd nut so it wouldnt touch the back of the alternator and put my 4th fuse in and it worked...

But...my power options/accessories (heater, radio, horn, brake lights, turning signals, locks) still dont work...

i had the alternator tested at advanced...since they didnt know how use it well i tested it myself and these are the results:

Alternator Regulator Voltage......14.11
Peak Amps...............................199A
Diode Pattern...........................GOOD
