I tried putting a sony xplod in and it did not turn on. I took it out and tried another head unit a kenwood and same problem. I try the stock head unit and it works so I'm lost and don't know how to get power to the head units.

Double check your connections. Check your harness if you're getting power and be sure to set your ground.

What wire should I check exactly got power it's the red and yellow right one is constant and the other is switch

How did you try to Install it?
Install kit w/factory->aftermarket connectors?
Hack the factory connectors?

Also pix would be nice.

Yellow wires, are usually 12v+ constant pwr, (memory)
Red wires 12v+ (switched) on when ignition is on.
Black to chassis ground.
Blue is usually an ACC Output wire, IE: Amplifier, or PWR antenna.

This Also may shed some light on your Problem!

I used the adapter. I am used to installing soundsystem but not the technical part like what each wire is for. I color coded every wire correctly. I'm debating between either the adapter is no good or I'm not getting power but if I'm not getting power why will the stock radio work.

Is the adapter new or used? If used be sure to clean up the wires from any old tape & etc.

I would test the red/black and blue with a test light. Heres the wire colors from the stock harness broken down.

Constant 12V+ Red/Black
Switched 12V+ Blue
Ground n/a
Illumination Green/White
Dimmer Black/Yellow
Antenna Left Rear
Front Speakers 4" Doors
Left Front (+) Black/White
Left Front (-) Black
Right Front (+) Black/White
Right Front (-) Black
Rear Speakers 5 1/4" Side Panels
Left Rear (+) Yellow/Blue
Left Rear (-) Gray/Blue
Right Rear (+) Yellow/Red
Right Rear (-) Gray/Red

Try grounding the wire black wire that comes out of the stereo to the body. I don't believe that there is actually a ground in the car harness because the factory stereo grounds thru the case to the body of the car.

I have a new scousche adapter. I'm going top check the voltage now now.

I checked the voltage and the signal wire is only putting out 2 volts. The switch wire if putting out 10 volts (I have a semi dead battery) when ignition is in the on position. So, what I did was wire both the signal and switch on the radio harness on the adapter together and now the radio turns on but the station won't save thats understandable and also if I put the radio semi loud it will just cut off and then if it goes louder the radio will say protect.

try charging your battery (or starting the car). with a semi-dead battery, the radio will act all sorts of goofy.
