Aftermarket Front Transmission Mount ?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

2G's have one brace that runs from the front subframe to the radiator support. The front roll stop (mount) bolts to this piece. There's not much weight to be saved with a chromoly replacement. There's not really much space to be saved either, so I doubt anyone has built one yet.

Are you having clearance issues with the mount itself? If so, one good idea would be to fabricate a small, solid replacement mount that replaces both pieces of the factoy mount. If I can find the time tonight, I'll poke around my engine bay and see if I can come up with a design for one.

I am not looking for a weight savings my problem is possible clearance issues i am putting a 90 silicone boot on and going to give that a try but the 90 is very close to the front engine mount and i am concerned that it could rub a hole in the boot
