Hi guys, I am having a little dilemma here. My car is currently at a Mitsu Dealer, waiting for the head tech that works on my car to return from training on Friday to get bakc to looking at it. So I have some time to put this out there for suggestions. I purchased the car with an ACT 2600lb clutch allready installed by the freind I got it from. The clutch always had a very low engagement point, about an inch or so off the floor he said. A month ago I had a leaky Slave Cylinder replaced, and ever since the clutch contact point has been getting lower it seems, untill past weekend I was in a mall parking lot and witht the clutch pedal fully depressed to the floor, attempted to shift into Reverse (or 1st) and could hear the gears grinding "click click click" slowly but the second I released the pedal even just a bit turns into a fast "whirrrr" . I drove it an hour to the service place and there are absolutely no unusual symptoms or sounds and it shifts like butter ont he highway. No bad engine symptoms or sounds, etc. (hoping not crankwalk). The trouble engaging only occurs at a dead stop with engine idling and 1st or reverse. The dealer has re-bled the clutch system but was inconclusive to me on the phone whether or not this helped or solved the problem. The service manager said the head tech will be looking at it again on friday. So my freind whom I got the car from said he had to once in a while adjust the nut ont he clutch pedal itself, so I relayed this to my Mitsu Tech. So do the ACT2600 clutches usually engage this low and why? What could be causing my dilemma, and how should it be adjusted/behave when running properly as far as engagement?
Thanks a million ahead of time guys!!!
I really appreciate it.
