I just installed all brand new parts to include act 2600, street disk, streelite flywheel, oem tob, oem clutch fork/pivot ball, used royal purple gear oil (2.3qts in tranny, .56qts in transfer case) and we bled the clutch right after installation and took it for a test drive and it drove fine, no engagement problems, no grinding, everything was fine so we thought... I was letting it idle for about 15 minutes and got back in the car only to find out it would not go into gear and would make a scratching/grinding noise when attempting to put it in any gear... So we went back and bled the clutch some more and its going into gear fine now, but when its in gear it makes a slight ticking noise at idle.... I have yet to let it idle for a while to see if it will "not" go into gear again like it did the first time but ill test it out tomorrow when i get more time...

Now i wanted some input or advise on what to look at or help figuring out what could possibly be causing the issues discussed above...

Thanks in advance guys..!

Usually you hear a little bit of noise from the throw out bearings but that is without engagement. You could have a leaking slave. I had a slave that was the factory one from 1996 on my car and i kept loosing pedal pressure every week. I raced my buddy one day an noticed i had a hell of a time shifting. I replaced it with a brand new slave from advance, and bled the hell out of it an followed the jacks transmission utube videos on how to adjust the clutch pedal rod so my clutch didnt drag. After i have not had one problem on my 2600 in 6 months.

Keep in mind, upgrading your clutch puts extra stress on the master cylinder, depending on how many miles are on the cylinder, it might not be holding as well as it once did. I had this issue on my 1g, and at the time it only had 60k miles on it. I replaced the master and the engagement issues went away. I would replace the master cylinder first and see if that fixes your issue before you start pulling apart the tranny and clutch again.

Replacement master & slave cylinders are cheap. If they are old and you are at all in doubt, replace them and bleed the clutch following the Jack's Transmission method of adjustment posted above in the video. I've had no issues with mine following those instructions.

Also make sure the retaining nut behind the c-clip on your adjustment rod is tight too. If it's loose or missing, the rod will slowly move changing your adjustment point and driving you crazy.

acts quality has gone downhill, im fighting a lock out issue in 2nd gear because of my new act clutch. your problem sounds like a slave/master issue, or a broken spring stuck between the disk and flywheel or pressure plate. check your fluid level

Yeah autozone got a clutch master cylinder for $60 and dsmparts has an oem clutch master cylinder for $130 so there is quite a price difference...

Pretty sure no springs are broken/stuck because its shifts nice and smooth when it actually goes into gear and it drove fine today for the 10 minutes i was on the road except its still got that slight ticking noise at idle when in gear, checked the fluid levels and they are good...
