My friend had a 93 AWD Eclipse and wants to know if he could bypass the ABS and take it off since its taking up room in the engine bay? His intake piping for his front mount is hitting it and after a while creates a small hole in the piping.

Yes. You can take out the abs unit.

You'll need:
Non ABS Proportioning valve
Non ABS lines from master cylinder to prop valve
Non ABS lines from prop valve to L/R front wheels

The ABS rear lines will hook up to the Non ABS prop valve without any problems.

It's not a hard swap. It's harder to get the old lines out than it is to get the new lines in.

I got all of my stuff from a Non ABS 2.0L NT car at the junkyard. $20

Yes he can. Although it's MUCH easier when the engine is out. What he needs to do is find a non-abs car or a non-turbo car and pull the front brake lines off (the metal portion) and the proportioning valve off. Then yank all the abs lines and the block and swap it out. Pain in the ass if the motor is in. Careful not to bust up the new lines going back in.

The lines going to the rear can be left alone. Just needs to be screwed into the proportioning valve.

Dang, you beat me to it. Oh well.

Thanks bro! I appreciate it! My 90 rebuild isnt going well either. The car starts but idles like crap at about 500 rpms and then eventually dies and when i give it throttle it doesnt react like it should. It takes a second to rev up. I have new everything except the sensors on the throttle body and the cam angle sensor. Could that be the problem?
