so i found a 93 mitz gsx in my town. the car runs but has a knock. its not a rod, i have had my fair share of those. (what dsmr hasnt) its a knock right of the bat. its in the top end. feels under the valve cover. and as soon as you crank it before it starts it makes the knock or more of a beat. it has perfect compression 165 all 4. starts right up. any ideas? thanks guys

It could be a piston wrist pin or piston slap just what it sounds like to me, at least if your description is correct. the valves sound good with the high compression. and the lifters would make more of a ticking sound . if it's a rod or a main knock you might be able to see it with a manual oil pressure gauge. oil psi should go up and down depending on how bad the knock is
