Ok so I installed my Shep stage 3 trans and Southbend SSX clutch with Kevlar disk and ACT Streetlite flywheel, along with NEW: OEM clutch master, slave, SS clutch line, fork, pivot ball, TOB, and a rebuilt and welded pedal assembly. Now heres the issue, the pedal grabs about an inch off the floor and the adjustment rod is threaded ALL the way out (cant thread out anymore because it will fall out the the nut thing). Shifting is notchy and sh*tty.

Personally, I dont want to ruin my brand new clutch and expensive ass f*ckin transmission so I called Shep today and talked with Trevor. He said hes only heard of this situation 2 or 3 times; he suggested to check to make sure my fork is not hitting the trans when the clutch is depressed, because that could cause an issue. I checked tonight and its not, plenty of room before hitting. He said if thats OK, then put in a longer slave rod even though its not recommended, thats all he could think of.

So since everything is BRAND FREAKING NEW, the clutch shouldnt be doing this. Im pissed off because I replaced everything so I wouldnt trash my new trans....:notgood::rolleyes::f-u::toobad::(:barf:

If I have to put in a longer rod, I will, but Id rather not. Im trying to think of anything else it could be  Master push rod too short maybe? I bought everything from ExtremePSI so I know its not some garbage junk placed in a mitsu box.
Please people, help me out. Thank you.

I recently had this issue with a customers 2g GS-T. We had all brand new components SBC PP and SBC clutch disk on an ACT streetliteflywheel. After removing and replacing the trans 6 times we found that Canada DSM thread. No matter what we did there was never any change in the engagement point. on the 6th trans removal we had the flywheel stepped to .625 and reassembled everything.

Miraculously everything was in spec after an additional clutch adjustment.

Good to know about the flywheel step height but I have already bought an ACT 6puck disk, which is waiting to go in. I havent driven my car in almost two months because the turbo blew up and I'm waiting to get it back. Once I put the new disk in, ill relay back what my findings are.

Sadly, not yet :banghead: Havent gotten around to it due to the cold weather and honestly not having the time to. I keep thinking about it though and spring is very near, so it will definitely be soon.

still not yet, I was close to doing it a couple weeks back but it never happened. Personally, I hate having to work on my car anymore, I get nothing but problems with this thing and therefore, I put the car and the problems aside and go about my business. It doesnt help that I work on cars for a living so I guess you could say that Im just not feeling it after a hard days work...

When it does happen, I will update asap.

On the other hand, Ive heard that a 2g clutch master rod is a little longer and should help with disengagement problems.

MAJOR UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (This took alot longer than it should have)

So I finally sucked it up and switched out clutch disks last night with an ACT sprung 6 puck, and I added another washer to the pivot ball. My pedal is now grabbing at the top, which is what I was hoping for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I just need to adjust the master rod so the clutch pedal will grab in the center, and I can give myself some freeplay on the pedal once again.

One downside though, is that because I kept driving with the old clutch the way it was, my 3rd gear has become slighty notchy and I thought it wouldnt do any damage, but its still notchy :/ Oh well, its my own fault for not doing anything about it sooner.

Thank you to everyone who has helped me, and I hope this thread will help others in the future as well.

You heard right. You can either use a Mirage or 2g master cylinder rod. It will give you that plenty of adjustment to disengage the clutch. If you have a welder, you can cut the 1g rod and extend the 1g mater cylinder rod using a m8x1.25 bolt(factory bolt with 12mm head). Add about 3/4" to it and you will have plenty of adjustment. This is an old an mod that not many people try. I swap a clutch master rod for one of the member's car on here and he recently did a tech write up on it.
