I am going to be purchasing a 1g talon in the near future and I am going to go ahead and start ordering parts for it. I am wanting to get a FMIC with the 3" GM blow through set up. How exactly does the wiring work on it? I have seen the pics of it and it looks to be just a plug in between set up, but I can't really tell and don't want to guess. Also, since playing with the system, do you have to have a afc for correction? Sorry, i have a 2g and am new to the 1g game. I hope it is as easy as

install FMIC w/ GM MAF blow through set up

plug in translater

done.

someone hook me up with what to do.

Aside from working out the fitment issue with piping, the MAFT simply plugs in to function. As stated above there is one wire for the RPM siginal that needs tapped, though the MAFT will run fine without it. It uses the RPM siginal to interpolate between low/mid/high settings so it isn't notchy. As for tuning the MAFT can do most if not everything of what you'll need. Some people believe the addition of an SAFC is a good call, others will swear by the MAFT alone.

Its not really a plug and play device.
There are 2 wiring harnessess and a few wires that need to be tapped. The RPM sensor needs to be spliced with the cam angle sensor to recive a reading, and various power, and ground wires that need to be connected as well. The concept is simple, and it is a baseline tuning for idle, WOT and fuel management.

It is a great mod to do. I changed mine over to the MAF-T setup about four months ago and it's still holding strong. In order to hook it up, you take one of the harnesses from the MAF-T and plug it into the existing MAF harness from the OEM sensor. The other harness plugs into the GM Hotwire sensor. Then there are two other wires that come off of the translator, one is white, the other is purple. The white gets spliced into the black wire coming off the CAS, and the purple is an auxiliary wire that is used for nitrous injection. That's it.

ok they r all on the inside.....tho[ught i recall some being on the outrside...sry thanx for the help anyways....that was quik thanx :D

make sure you pay attention to the dip switches and base dial to get your injectors dialed in right, and to tune it youll need a logger. but the hook up is straight forward, white wire goes to the black wire on the CAS if im not mistaken :) it should come with a T-tap. oh and dont pull that chip out of the inside, because if you put it in backwards it becomes JUNK instantly, you ask how do i know? i did it  i upgraded from 1.3 to 2.02 ;)

You technically do not need a logger to mess with the settings...but it is wise.
There are 5 dials on the inside of the translator unit. BASE, AUX, WOT, IDLE and a initial tune. I havent started with my settings yet..im waiting for it to get warmer.

I recommend it to a number of peeople. Spool time is insane. I step on it and im gone. And im venting properly now. So its always good to screw with people before you smoke them. :thumb:

Aside from the RPM wire which is optional, the the harnes on the translator is plug and play. One connector to the GM MAF, the other connector to the vehicle's wiring harness.

ok...i want to just blow to the atmosphere, do i touch nothing or du i have to have any knobs set at something? im doing this right now so asap would b lovely :)

b4 yall read this....this is a 96 gst so u know, i know this was a 1g thread but please help

ok....yall call me a noob if yall want, but i still cant find the CAS to tap that one wire....basically, i put it on. if im at nuetralyor im not moving and reving, no problems, it vents beautifully, it revs fine, although u dont build too much boost without a load. when i take it out, when it starts building boost(and im talkin 1-4 psi when im normally at 13) it just bogs bad! what im thinkin is either i need to hook up that rpm wire even tho some people say that u run without it, or i have a bad maf, but i would like to hook the rpm wire to make sure that my maf is bad so i wont waste my money. now heres my problem.....will someone please take a picture and POINT to the cas, ### ive been lookin all night and finally i just gave up. the only thing i c where everyone is pointing is like a plug with two wires coming out of both ends. is that it or am i still wrong...someone please help, with something so easy i dont c why im having problems :(
