I read something somewhere about deleting the ac and powersteering tensioner and just running a shorter belt and adjusting some tension with the powersteering.

My tensioner is making some noise and id like to just delete it. But I want to keep the AC and powersteering.

Does anyone know what size belt is needed or maybe a part number for the belt?

Thanks!

So you're just looking to delete the tensioner? Not sure how well that would work, or if anyone will know the proper belt legnth.

I know if you want to remove the AC compressor the belt is a 400k5, commonly found in stock at your local Auto Zone-

So there isnt a for sure way to delete the tensioner? I want to keep the AC and PS just remove that damn tensioner. LOL.

thanks guys.
Yup, do it. Just take it off :)o The belt number is either on here or on 2gnt. Or you can just use the rope trick get a length and bring the number to the parts store to match up.

You would use the power steering pump for a tensioner.

Agreed. There's 2 14mm bolts that you loosen up through PS pulley. Use a crobar to adjust the tension, and tighten. I'm running without A/C, and just have the PS with no tensioner. Works fine just like that.

Do you have the stock UDP still on? I have the boxes at home with the part numbers I can get to you later.

Sorry I forgot to post back.

I have both belt numbers, and I forget which one has 3 tracks and which one has 4. I believe the alt is 3, but not sure off hand. Check it out on the car before buying

Again, those are the belts for the stock crank pulley to stock size alternator and stock power steering belt MINUS the AC and tensioner. Hope that helps.

No. The belts I listed above were for the no AC or tensionsor. Again, just take a string, wrap it around and measure it.
