420a belt tensioner question

Driving a 2g n/t, all these cars come with two different belts correct? My question for everyone is I've changed the belts out twice already and it seems it starts to slip again after 6,000 milesish around there i guess. I'm thinking most likely its the ps and the a/c belt since in the mornings when i go to work ill make my way out of the driveway and it'll squeal as im turning and when the a/c is on it lightly squeals on and off so im assuming its doing that when the compressor gives load. Is it possible to convert the manual tensioner to a spring loaded or auto tensioner? If not what kind of advice can y'all send my why to fix the problem. Its embarrassing and annoying driving around like that,

My 99 gs does the same thing. Especially in the morning. Ive tried several different belts, as well as changing the adjustments on the tensioner.

You can remove the tensioner all together and just the adjustment in the PS pump to adjust the tension. Thats what I did. You have to get a smaller belt

I just did this today to my 99 eclipse. Used 400K5 Duralast belt. Worked Perfect!

Did it clean up the bay a bit? I still haven't had the time to do it but i am planning on using my thanksgiving weekend to do a little bit of work to the car. I still have that annoying belt squeal. Was that a pretty common belt or was it special order? Where did you pick it up at? Would it work the the 420a?

Finally got around to doing that tensioner delete tonight since the squealing was annoying the crap out of me. Worked perfect!! Thanks for everyone's input!
