Hey guys, I was wondering what this car would run on the track. 99 gst with JDM 7bolt with 29,000kms. 14b with fmic and stock injectors. Also after the maintenance is taken car of as soon as the car is purchased, what things should I do to it. I am looking for a DD that will be on the road about 8 months of the year and stored for the winter, not having huge travels for school so long trips wouldnt be an often occurance. So I would want a very reliable set up with decent track times, I will not be pushing the car every day all day, I intend to treat it right but give it some fun -.^. So if someone could reccomend the path to take that isnt crazy expensive but could run a decent time, that would be awesome. Thanks for your time.

Steve.

Well since you car is stock look up what a stock car would run and there you go. Anyways this is bench racing and not allowed here. If you want to know what it will run then go spend the few dollors to run at the track.

The question wasnt just what would i run. It was also the path to take aswell as what I can expect. Thanks though.

Well what do you think are decent track times? If you plan on staying with the 14b I would run e85 if you have it up there or a good meth injection kit. That turbo can get decent times but you will need to push it hard with some good timing.

Or you can upgrade to a evo 16g and it will bolt right up. They can make 300whp easy on pump and over 400+whp with a some good race fuel or a shot of e85. Plus all the good stuff like, fuel mods, engine management and the regular bolt ons.

how much is a 16g usually? and I want it to stay reliable and not to crazy on gas, so with the 16g I wouldnt want to run crazy boost, ill get it chipped, it already has full exhaust. If I can be in the 13s I will be happy, for now. But 300-350whp seems to me to be mroe then enough to run 13s. and can i stay reliable with decent gas mileage if im not killin it?

You could have the biggest turbo in the world; if you don't push the throttle down far enough to hit boost, you won't use any extra gas.

As for your 1/4 mile times, you'll just have to go find out won't you. 12 seconds flat in a 1/4 mile is not as easy as just tossing on a turbo.

EDIT: Oh you said 13s. That's no cakewalk either, but with some seat time, I think you could maybe do a 13.99 on the stock setup with AWD. Then the track officials will tell you not to come back until you have a SA2005 approved helmet.

You can get an evo big 16g for around $600. Unless you have an eprom, how do you plan to "git it chipped?" You'll need to get some 650 injectors, a pump and at least an AFC to achieve your goal.

Extreme PSI Fuel Management Kit: Mitsubishi Eclipse 90-99 Turbo #16346
comes with afc, injectors, pump check it out I got this a while ago I happy with it

Sounds good. Thanks guys. I'm obviously not expecting 13s off the bat, you just want to get to mid to lower 13s by the end, and still have a reliable DD. big 16g with those additions that were mentions sound affordable and to get into the 13s for that amount of money is good enough for me. But thats what everyone says, then after every goal reached they want a better time. Heh. Thanks though guys.
