'99 GS - SRT4 engine swap

Well the srt engine and trans fit the eclipse 3 out of 4 mounts made. The 4th being the simpler of all but i need more parts, preffably a tubular control arm. No custom hood needed. Now what is left to be done,exhaust,clutch linkage,axels,throtle cable,shifter,a/c lines,power stearing,cooling,fmic,wiring, using the srt harness and guages,fuel pump upgrade,de program the pcm anti theft. Will post further in new picks. The srt brakes are pitifull. The fronts are single piston and look simular to the gs brakes with the rotors being a half bigger and the whell bolt pattern being diffrent, so im not going thier. Gsx front and gst rear looks like to be the best cheap upgrade. When i get done with the above stuff will move onto body and interior.

I think it's a little too early to celebrate, but none the less, congrats on getting this far.

Ditto that, but I'm rooting for it to work smoothly. I give you props for all this work and can't wait to see it in action.
 
Gs on top of srt.

Thanks for the reality check. But ive got a lot of flack that it wouldnt fit so im kinda on a high. Yes thier still is alot of work to be done. Just take my time keep lots of notes and try to keep my cool. I know that when it pisses me off i just take a brake and go kill somthing on the ps3 or the 360. Had a small break after trying to get the left axel out of the eclipse to find out some one had cross threaded it, so ive gota find a eclipse axel just for the outer cv joint. So far vested 20 bucks in scrap steel, bent lower control arm free, used for the upper torque mount. The bennifit its solid so no play.

It actually is pretty cool. Keep it up! I got some spare parts if you're willing to pay. Stock motor mounts and transmission mount and a broken 3-4 shift fork (you could just weld it back on):cool:
 
Well here is the f up part. When i got the srt 5 years or so ago. I got some parts for it. The car was a roll over. The valve cover was cracked and the thermostat housing busted. So i was like i gettem valve cover was cheaper than the thermostat housing way cheaper. Some of the parts i will be needing,rad and fans,intercooler,and some of the factory hoses for fmic, sensor on top of the intake, and a low pressure sensor on the a/c compressor. Um i might have some parts u might want struts,engine cradel,latches,front brakes,rear door regulators,rear suspension stuff.

Back on all fours!!

Was thinking about doing this till I was told to go ahead and do a 2.4 swap from a stratus...More power to the N/T DSM group..Nice work
 
Man that is one jacked up pick of mine im gonna have to shoot another. I guess because of the angle of my phone, it makes the left rail reaching for sky ugh it dose not look like that.

Well i try to find iformation on this swap but came up short. Thier was a thread on swap but there were only a few pics. And looking at the picks it didnt seam to me like it was a srt swap, the power stearing pump and resivor looked wrong, what i could tell on the valve cover and the thermost housing as well. Mine is busted. Then it is bolted to an automatic trans as well? Just seamed like it was a hoge poge of parts to me.

When this install is done i post the parts need to do this swap. The best bet i think so far is to buy a wreaked srt, perf a rear end hit or rollover, And sell what u dont need.

Now i know that this gonna be long build since my time is limted and hopfully have this thing fired up by summer 2012. Thats my goal. Every thing else buy spring 2013, and drive by summer 2013.

I will do the best that i can in posting so that u can follow thru. What i lack in grammer and such will be followed with picks to help show what and how im doing this build.

Im trying to use as much factory parts as possable, for instance the motor mounts. If i break one i can order a replacement vrs having to make one, plus I have the part since I tore down the srt.

My goal is to make the engine and trans look like it was a factory option. So in other words clean.

Somthing not right the power stearing pump is not right and the upper tork mount is not thier. Leading me to belive that it is a diffrent block with a srt head and componets. But i could be wrong.
 
wondering if he has a 420A block with a 2.4SRT head...Heard of Neon owners doing this a while back...I know somebody who has the Neon RS with a SRT4 but he has to run megaaquirt for it to run..
