This is Amazing! Keep it up man! Ive yet to see someone do this succesfully and as in depth as you have.

tell him to send ya a couple pics of the block(both sides we can tell from it).. I was wondering how he got the SRT4 tranny to work?

it is the srt motor i saw the swap my self he bought a wrecked srt and put it on the pics he sent you was when a local shop hacked it all but looks really clean now only thing is that he is using the 420 tranny hardness looks oem now

wondering if he has a 420A block with a 2.4SRT head...Heard of Neon owners doing this a while back...I know somebody who has the Neon RS with a SRT4 but he has to run megaaquirt for it to run..

it has the stock ECM from the srt the guy locally got it running great. As for the motor mount they made a custom mount so the chasy wasnt cut or anything. The hardness is half of the 420a

Ah thank you. Well it seems that thier is more than one way to stuff a srt engine in a 2g. Since i had the srt trans with the lsd im using it. Thanks for the reply.

Ok here are my findings on shifting the srt trans.
1 The shifter cables are to short to work with the dsm body.
2. The 2g shifter has way to much throw. If used could and treated harshly could cause linkage failure or trans damage.
4. So the parts that i used. 2G shifter,Srt shifter,1G shifter cables and bracket.
5 Remove all shifter items so that it is just a base, and remove base mount bushings. Set aside for reinstall.
6 Remove mounting bushings from srt shifter.
7 Alingn left rear mounting holes with the srt shifter on top of dsm base plate, and spot in place. Then cut rear mounting tabs off so as to reuse dsm mounting bushings.
8. Longer cable left side sort one right side.
9 When mounting cabels make sure that thier full range of movement and weld the cable retainers from the dsm
10 when done the cables should be even on trans

Ok shifter is done for now just needs to be fine tuned when up and runing. I cut off the top of 420a shifter cut down the srt shifter and the mounted the 420a upper part on srt bottom part. The I used the the bottom of the 420a shifter to extend the linkage on the trans.

The throtle cable just cliped in no brainer. I am glad no customizing.

Keep up the good work man, cant wait to see this car pics when its done and see it in action on youtube...

Holy hell a lot of work. Subscribed!!!

Well comparing the srt collum and the eclipse collum they are the same length give or take 1/8 of a inch. The srt is way lighter especialy with the tilt feature removed. I hade to make a jig so I could transfer the mounting tabs from one collum to the other. To conect the srt collum to the stearing rack, I swaped out the upper u joint on the intermedate shaft, so that the upper part will slide on to the srt collum and the bottom part will slide into the stearing rack. The dash cluster is a real pain but I am making progress. The problem with using the srt guages is that guages are huge compared to the dsm, so a lot of fab work. I was hoping the dsm stearing wheel would fit but no such luck. So I guess a aftermarket wheel will be in order, I dont want the ram emblem in the car. Now this part of the build is still in progress and I think this more of a pain than the engine and trans swap. Oh so when im done with this part othe guages will need a new home as well. Im using the srt boost gauge, which is a autometer and and adding a volt, and oil pressure guage as well they will go in the pocket under the radio. So here are the customized parts and some of the fiting going on.

Take your time man. This build is well worth the wait

I picked up these door and rocker mouldings today. They are 2ga talon for 50 bucks with no busted tabs. Oh and so u know this is the size of my garage, not exactly big but it is enclosed.

If you need some of the mounting tabs I got some from dsm gravyard ill never use I can mail em to you.

was the colum swap by chopice or was there something that required you to do this that was unique to the swap? seems like a lot of trouble forsomething that might not have been needed, but definitely shows off the work going intothis car..I can't wait to see it running !!

The reasons I went for the srt collum wiring, its actully lighter, most dash knobs are on the srt collum. Hazzards, fog, dim.and I wanted to keep the srt anti theft which is tied to the collum. If u look closly at the dash im filling all the switches with base model block off plates. As far the hole were the factory dimmer was on the dsm, im thinking electric hatch release. Some u would see in a gm car with the yellow button. So its by choice they have a program that will deleate or cancle the anti theft now so u dont have to use the srt collum.

Well today I found a deal that could not refuse and it didnt break the bank. I found on craigs list today as set of 99-04 mustang cobra wheels.17x9 with junk worn out 255/45/17 tires with no curb rash. I will prob drop to a 255/40/17 when funds are avail. Price for these 250 bucks. Do they fit yes with no rubbing.
