420A 99 420a RS Ticking and cut off prob. info??

I checked but i am still unsure, I need some information on what this could be ASAP please.

So here it goes, I have these problems of
1) My car cutting off while usually in neutral applying regular braking coming up to or stopped at a light no sign of its about to cut off just a visual of the rpm going from around 1 to 0. what could it be?
2) It also has a ticking noise which I thought was a lifter or valve so now I replaced the whole head with new valves, lifters,roller, and cams so its not the head. Could it be a spun rod or main bearing causing this ticking/ knocking? Or is it the Rod knocking?
3) Engine light is on for a large evap leak any ideas? But im not leaking fuel.

what was done recently and ran fine for 3 days then i had all of these problem but the knocking has been there for about a year last weekend i replaced the whole head with new valves,lifters,rollers, and cams. ran fine for 3 days then i had to replace my fuel filter and o2 sensor. This is a 420a non-turbo RS so please any help will do thank you.

1) idle air controll
2)could be piston slap more noticeable when first started on a cold motor
3) fix the leak

Ill try my idle air and see what goes on
piston slap exactly whatis it and how do i get rid of it
yeah well the engine light keeps going on and off

so i have been looking up and researching piston slap and came to a conclusion that alot of members on here have said that piston slap can not be heard inside the car and that it happens when the car is cold but once warmed up goes away and thats not the case for mine since i knocks from start up to shut off and you can here it from about a mile away(just kidding) but literally can hear it from about 10-20ft away from the car. so could it still be piston slap?

Sounds like the lifters to me, did you replace the head or did a shop?To tell you the truth it sound like lifter just after replacing a head on first start up and the lifter have been bleed down and have not yet had a chance to build back up again some time this can take up to 30mins of running or more!

does not sound like a rod or piston slap fyi u can hear piston slap in the car and it does go away when warm it is only when cold, like when u first start it up!

I wounder if a shop put a new head on reusing you're old cams and lifters and rockers, most of the time a rebuilt head does not come with cams, lifters, rockers!

Pull the valve cover and see if you can buy finger pressure push down on any of the lifter's they should all be firm to the touch!

Also u might want to put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on it and see were it is at the light only come on at about 5psi!

Yeah i did the head swap and those are new lifters they have been in the car for two or three weeks now that i drive daily so i think that they should build back up by now

yeah i can hear it inside the car i was just saying what other people have said on this site it doesnt go away once it is warm.

Like I said I replace the rockers, lifters, valves and cams and the whole head in general.

I cant not push them down by finger so that rules that out.

About the oil pressure theres no light on so not sure what your talking about.

Why all the exclaimation points? haha I hate exclaimations haha

Forget what i said about under 5psi,i have no idea how low you have to be before the light comes on i guess 0psi! I just looked up the spec's for it and here they are oil pressure at curb idle 4psi and 25-80 psi @3000 !So the light comes on under 4psi witch seams way low to me but that's what the specs says!I would test it at 3000 and see what you have there!

So..... replaced the idle air control valve and it still cuts out on me so it wasnt that anyone else help!
