Sadly the only things that have shown any sign of poor show is my knock sensor. Which is being replaced today. I will post a log after i get my swap done, but my tune is pretty close. My fuel trims are all pretty close and my FPR i doubt is the issue since it did this with both my OEM one, and now my AFPR. No matter the base pressure. Im pulling something like 12.3mpg no matter what. Granted this is city driving. Highway I will get closer to 19mpg, but I dont take my talon very far. Although i plan to take it to MOD this year in IL.

Either way, I love the build progress. Cant wait for the next updates.

25AUG2010 - Photo Shoot Around San Diego

I decided it was time to take a few good shots of my car with the new Talon bumper/sides and over 400whp on the tune. ;)

These are just a few of my favorites.

I read through this thing last night and I love what youve did with the car. This is just a sexy beast. The spoiler is really unique, I dont think ive seen anything quite like it in person. Also the red mitsu symbol on the wheels give it a great contrast.

I'm in the military so I'm allowed to plate my car out of state at my home of record, lucky me huh? :)

Thanks for the compliments. I'll post more pics/updates here in the next week, these last few weeks the girl and I have had family visiting so not much time to get the pics together and post them.

Thanks for the compliments, lately I've been wanting to push my car off a cliff because its down and hasn't ran in a few months. Looking through this and reading everyone's comments really make me push to get it back out on the road...
Really nice build thread ive never thought i read this much LOL. I have aquestion for you. What is that tool called that you used to hold the cams together and where did you get it?
Assuming you're referring to this photo, you can buy the kit here. ---> Jay Racing Timing Belt Tool Kit

My old bumper, glad you made it work well on your car. I need to paint my black 2gb front to match my car. Keep up the good work bud

You might have posted it, but what is going on with your car?

In this build thread I'm only to Aug. 2010 so no, I haven't mentioned whats being done to my DSM present day yet. To say the least though, my car had to pass CA emissions (basically making it stock) and since its in pieces after its passed I'm doing a lot of mods that I've been putting off for nearly a year. FIC 2150's, Aero Stealth 342lph pump, cable pull mod the fp hanger, FP exhaust manifold, 3g 8+9 brake booster, 300zx 17/16 brake master cylinder, ThreeSpeed scatter shield, shifter cable stiffeners, Calan's CC install, remounting my FMIC because I didn't like how it was, and a fresh painted set of Evo IX wheels.

Of course there will be build/date for each of these mods but the above is why its down. Hopefully, one of these days, this build thread will be to present day and not me playing catch up. :coy:

03SEP2010 - Shutting-up An Audi RS4 Owner at the Track

:rocks:

My co-worker bought an Audi RS4 which, if you haven't seen or been in one, is a pretty fast AWD Audi. Somehow Audi figured out how to shove a 420hp V8 under the hood of that sedan and make it AWD, the perfect setup for him to talk shit EVERYDAY at work. He and I finally took it to the track to see whose car's boss and I wanted to see how well this new tune/setup could scoot down the track.

The Audi owners friends were video taping and "they didn't come out right" however, his fastest time of the night was an 8.7 (1/8th of course) and I was consistently running 8.0's fighting boost leak problems.

Either way, I beat my friend and I ran my fastest 1/8th to date so I couldn't complain. It was time to find out what the hell was pissing boost so I could really go fast...

Below is a shot of our cars parked, sorry the lighting sucked, and my time slip from my fastest run of the night.

18SEP2010 - Trip to California Speedway with the HTA68

Unfortunately, I still hadn't tracked down what the hell in my setup was leaking boost; every time I'd pressurize the system everything was tight! :idontknow:
So, to fix the rich condition I was seeing on the WB during WOT (10.4 ~ 10.6:1) which was causing the car to sputter/backfire on E85, I tried tuning it out. I wanted to see what my car could do down the 1/4 mile track though and time wasn't on my side so desperate times call for desperate measures... :coy:

The end of the day I ran the best 1/4 mile ET/trap to date so it was a great day but I did have clutch dragging issues and the rich condition was slowly getting worse.

Here's a video of my fastest run, just so happened I was lined up with an Evo X owner that came up to me and asked to race in the pits. :D

Then some shots of me racing my buddy Frank from LADSM.
