i am putting a 97 motor in a 95 shell any one have a link to how i have to wire up the cas? thanks

well it runs, i swapped the spark plug wires but if you step on the petal fast it cuts out or bogs completely seems to rev fine when not moving and in first gear most of the time. But second gear you have to ease on the petal super slow or it bucks and cuts out . In the thread linked above its for a 95motor in a 97 i'm doing the opposite do i have to swap injector wires or something?

:already tested and no major boost leaks
: using my old plugs (like new 50miles?) gaped at .030
:buying new plug wires today (will report back if it helps )

*I'm assuming you don't have DSMlink or anything that can change the CAS

Wish I could say for certain but I believe you must swap injector wires. I know that if you were opposite the situation (97-99 cas in 95-96 body) you would have to swap both the spark AND injector wires at the ECU (or power transistor)

For reference, the CAS signal is all the same from 89-94, 97-99 sensors. The 95-96 is the inverted years concerning CAS. So if you have something from 95/96 paired with 89-94 & 97-99, things will need to change electronically.

Please someone correct me if wrong, but I'm gonna say to swap injector wires as per these instructions: RRE Instructions

Don't worry that it shows the 1G CAS, just skip down and read about injector wires. Sounds like you have it wired up right, just not firing correctly.

The wire colors are the same between 95-99. In 95-96, the cam signal given off is opposite (inverted) compared to 97-99's.

This link has more info, but don't forget their solution to inversion is with DSMlink. swapplugwires [ECMTuning - wiki]

I have a 97 in a 95 and all I had to do was swap plug wire positions. Other than that it was plug and play. Don't know if it will help, but I also have a 95 with a 97 eprom ecu and have the same problem. I put the 95 A/T ecu in and the problem still existed, so I don't think it could be the ecu. However, I still don't know the cause of it as crankwalk showed up before I could find it.

I know I'm not giving you the answer, but merely trying to help in the troubleshooting.
