hi guys i picked up a 95 eclipse 2g auto awd transmission from Ebay. The transmission goes into gears but when put into parking it makes a grinding noise and then a clunk, also when put in drive it doesn't move forward unless i rev up to 4-5k and it just creeps up very slow, a slug might be quicker.

Now when the car is in the air the wheels spin fine with no prob. What can be the problem please help
the reason for me getting a new trans is that i purchased the vehicle without a transmission.

NOTE THAT THE TRANSFER CASE IS NOT INSTALLED YET. would this be an issue?

The seller stated it was in working condition and tested. the transfer case that came with the trans was junk it was ran with minimal amount of oil and welded the bearing to the shaft. The exterior condition of the transmission looked great as if was just rebuilt.

thanks for your time

Do not try to move the car again unless your pushing it around until you get another Transfer-case.
Your just burning up your viscous coupler like that. Only way to drive an awd trans as fwd would be to weld the center diff in the trans.
If you need the tcase rebuilt let me know, I can do that for you.

Dang!, Thanks for the info/help. I do have my transfer case but i don't have the dust shield; should come in the mail today, and ill put everything together and test it out. Any other tips will be great thanks guys
