what had happened was I was driving down the highway when all of a sudden my car started leaking oil badly but I didn't know so I saw the low oil light come on and then i started hearing clinking sounds so I pulled over, put more oil in and then when I tried starting the car, it hesitated a little bit, gave it some gas and it eventually started and then I drove about 5 mins and the same thing happened again so I pulled over again and as soon as I put my car in neutral, the car completely died and wouldn't start at all. When I tried starting it, it made a clicking sound and plus I test the volts on the battery and it was at 9.7 volts. just put a fresh battery in and now when i go to start it, it doesnt turn over at all and when i turn the ignition, all i hear is a big clunk. i did it a couple times just to hear the sound and then saw smoke coming out along with a burnt kind of smell. what could i be and how could i fix it?

Well the news doesn't sound good Tim. When the oil light comes on it's not low on oil, it's out of oil. Can you turn the motor over by putting a wrench on the crank balancer bolt and get it to turn??? If not the diagnosis is grim. The "clunk" and the burnt smell are the starter trying to turn over the motor but the motor is probably seized up from lack of lubrication. I'm sure it's not what you want to hear but that is probably what it is (although I hope not). See if it will turn over with a big wrench on the harmonic balancer and report back.
