Alright guys I just picks up a 95 GST.It has all forged internals,Now I want to build her up.I have the cash I just need some guidance. What turbo should I use to reach 600hp?Injector size?what else do I need?Any input is appreciated and tell me what brands you have had good luck with and what to stay away from.

Heh that is a good link, rallye.

You are missing a few key things to get help on here. One, much of this info is easily found using the search feature, but more importantly you need to tell us your intentions for the car. Is it street, street/strip, or just a track car?

Basically, you need to change everything about the car. Injectors on gas should be 1000cc+. You'll need an AFPR to control fuel pressure, something to tune with ( I suggest ecmlink ), a few 255 fuel pumps or 1 big pump, a large FMIC, a big turbo, and a new exhaust manifold, O2 housing, intake, and downpipe for that turbo. This is assuming you have basic bolt-ons already. If it's a manual, a performance rebuild would be in order.

To really attain 650whp, tack on a pricey intake manifold, pricey tires, pricey upgraded axles probably, upgraded brakes which require larger wheels, and a heavily built transmission.

It is going to be a Street/Strip car.I want to have at least 550 horse to the wheels. It has a Clutch masters stage 2 clutch but I am unsure how much that can handle.I am going to go with a Venom intake manifold.Mew throttle body(not sure what brand).dsmlink v3 is on its way.I am not sure what size turbo is adequate for 500-600 range. What size fuel pump will be adequate?1000cc injectors will do the job?i want this car to be reliable at 500-600 horse also I don't need to be blowing things apart.

I would run a JMF Intake manifold
JM Fabrications

You can upgrade to a 1g TB

forced performance seems to be what most people run for exhaust manifold

for turbos its all up to you but precision turbos are great
Precision Turbo and Engine: Turbochargers, Air/Fuel Delivery, Boost Control, Racing

Transmission:

Tuning: ECM Link V.3

possiably Gm Maf

fuel lab afpr or aem

With injectors and ecmlink go bigger than you need so you can grow. 1000cc would be minimum I would consider, 1200 would be better.

As for turbos, there's the Holset HX40, garret 35r variants, the borgwarner 366, and many others for that range. Those three are probably the most popular largish street/strip turbos. Try looking at vendor's pages for turbo ideas, like extremepsi.com

A couple of walbro 255 fuel pumps intank, or a 255 intank and a bosch 044 inline should do the trick. Wouldn't hurt to upgrade the fuel feedlines and filter to -8an.

Oh and it will break things, you cannot triple the output of an engine and not break things.

Its going to cost you alot. Prepair to spend near 20k on it. Little stuff adds up so damn quick on these cars and youre asking for alot of power. Just go overboard on every component and consider e85 or meth injection to attain your goals.

alot has to do with what fuel you plan to run. for example if you run race fuel you will probibly want 750cc injectors to 1650cc or if you plan on running e85 i would suggest 1650-2250cc injectors. Also spending money on a good fuel pump would be a good idea . i think anything bigger then a walboro 255 would do the job or use 2 walboro 255s. most turbos tell you the estimated power range they can produce running efficiently. Also would suggest precision dual ball bearing turbos. precision 6262 could possibly make your goal on e85. i would look into precision 6567 or equal turbo to ensure you reach your goal.

Theres a thread on the 6262 somewhere on thsi site. People have made over 600 with it. And iirc, i think they didnt even run BB, just journal. If i had to buy my precision over again, id spend the extra money and get BB. I hear the spool time is better and the longevity is greatly increased.

:barf: ..... JMF, DVDT, Beyond Redline .... hell, Magnus are all better options ..... 500 whp GST? With no mention of diff. upgrades or axles?....:nono:

I love these "pie in the sky" threads.

People don't always take into account every little aspect that comes along with actually working on a car correctly and safely. You must make sure everything else you have can support the power. Atleast switch to the AWD axles for better support but I don't even think a stage 2 clutch can hold enough torque for a 600hp GST.

i am building a all forhged internal top to bottom race motor for my 95 gsx and i have been doing alot of looking for the right clutch stage wise to hold same kinda power and u better be looking to the sytage 3 setup and yes there are a few that are streetable and strip..

There is a learning curve first. Do a lot of research and dont be that newbie that wants to run 10's and dont even know what type of fuel pump to run. Try 350-400whp and then go up from there. You will be surprised how fast a real 400whp can be but be prepared for traction issues.

I made 680fwhp with an hx40. Check out my profile for all my mods.

As fas as drive train mods- I still use stock axles and when my car was a 5 speed a stock tranny. When I was making around 550whp I had a bone stock tranny and stock open diff. Never broke an axle or any 5 speed tranny making around 100 passes at the track and street time too.

^yup. There are people who get can get a stock tranny to last at high hp. Just proof that the best mod is a driver mod.

However, i wouldn't count on your stock stuff to last because it probably won't.

For every hour you plan to work on your car, research what you're going to be doing for 2.
