Turbo AWD Automatic. Well long story short I bought this car and got a ton of extra parts with it. The headgasket decided to go out on me within 2 days of buying it to the point it wouldnt crank. So now Im getting ready to start working on it. The only thing with it right now is that Ive got a spare 6 bolt block that I would like to build before I rip the car down but the guy that sold me the car only had one main cap for it. I could get some more main caps for free from a friend but I still havent priced getting it line bored.

Mods when I got the car:
walboro 255, 2g manifold and o2 ported, small 16g

Left over stuff from parting out my neon:
Adjustable FPR, AEM wideband, 30/30 phantom boost gauge, gunmetal slipstreams

So far I have purchased:
Front mount with piping, 3in gm maf, mbc, wiseco/manley stroke combo, arp head studs, MLS headgasket

Up next:
2.4 crank, dsmlink v3, 1200cc injectors, BC cams, hughes stall

Then later on Im going to go with a bigger turbo as soon as I have the cash for it.

Well back to square 1. I pressure tested it to 20psi and everything is good but the car wont make over 7psi.

Little update, Ive been between jobs but Im back on track now. Finished buttoning up some loose ends on my srt-4 daily driver and now that the weathers cool and all that is done I can get back on the talon. Plans are to hopefully have it done by the 16th of this month and ready to make some runs.

Did a leak down test and I think the car has a couple bent valves so I am pulling the head today and hopefully with have it running 100% for the first time in about 3 weeks.

On a good note after the lifter upgrade and the 272 cams the car seems to be running well. Time to get in a little tuning and button up everything.

Got everything together and working. Ive just been waiting for decent weather due to this winter storm. Hopefully I can get a video or something together this weekend, weathers supposed to be clear and in the 50's.

Ive been messing with it a little bit but just havent really had the time or the money for a while. It ran a 14.1@101 last sunday on low boost and a 2.2 sixty foot with a ton of boost leaks. Now that the weather is finally cooperating around here I might try and get it on a dyno.

Just a little update on this project. I have been daily driving the car in 90+degree weather for about a week now since I am doing some upgrading on the srt-4. Car cranks first time everytime, and hasn't given me any problems other then a couple exhaust housing bolts backing out. I've been enjoying the ac and cruise control but the old stock speakers leave a bit to be desired . Well I'm glad I didn't sell the car but I probably wont be able to make it back to the track til september at the earliest.

I would have to say that is a nice looking Talon. I am new to the DSM world and its exciting for sure. I just got my 98 GST Spyder and 2 weeks after acquiring it I put on a front mount with hard piping, and I love what that has done for me. Definitely looks like you got of to a good start for sure..

Awww man do u feel a big difference with that front mount ? Is the rest of the car stock ?

Is it finally boosting?

I had the keyway on the crank mess up a couple times but thats all fixed. Its making about 22lbs, I havent tried to turn it up or mess with it because I have to have something to drive. Hopefully the neon will be finished up today and the weather will cool down so I can mess with the talon a bit.

Car is currently being parted out. Im trying to get rid of the body with the rear end wheels and everything. If anybody wants it, its in good shape and the interior is in pretty good shape also. I have a couple for sale ads up with parts and info, but I think it is starting to eat a bearing due to a bit of metal flake in the oil so I have decided to move on.

Car still has working powersteering, ac, and cruise, and I think I still have everything to put the abs back on if its wanted.
