I just bought a 1992 talon tsi with no motor in it and no battery. All I was wondering was would I be able to hook just a battery with out a motor in it and be able to roll the windows up since they are both down and the cars out side. And I won't have a motor for a couple weeks.

do i have a problem with my wiring harness if i am grounding my 12v source and hooking it up to the positive of the battery wire and still getting no power...

Ok I'm scared I think I ####ed it up. I had it to turn the dash on and stuff and it seemed like It couldn't put out enough volts to use the window motor. So I was using a 12 volt battery charger straight to the bAttery wire and then just grounded the battery charger and went to turn if off when I noticed it wouldnt power the window motor and now I went to try it again and I can't even get the dash to light up. Can someone please help me!

thanks man, cool to see a fellow dsm fan in naperville, we should meet up sometime

would it be alright if i used jumper cables and just ran them off a running car straight to the battery wire?

The worst that could've happened is you blew a fuse somewhere. If you have the tools, just borrow the battery from the Jetta and use it to close the Talon's windows.

If I did blow a fuse, what fuse would make the car not get any amps at all, not even to light the dash...

$1200 for a red 92 talon awd tsi, full drivetrain and rebuilt transmission. no motor, FMIC, full 3inch turbo back exhaust. here are some pics...
