Thanks. This was the 1st of 3 lasers (both FWD) and 2 Talons (both AWD), Just kept it stock, basic bolt ons. The paint on the rear deck lid it faded due to the wonderful FL summers and sitting of course.

very clean lookin car.

Thank you

Well I went to the shop for the progress on the motor. All is good, motor is buttoned up, ready to drop in. I noticed the sleeve on the output shaft on the transmission, where the TOB goes around, happened to be missing. It looks like it was sheared off the bellhousing. So now I'm looking for a bellhousing or CHEAP tranny.

Thanks. It's been a long time over due. Jason

I am am just trying to get as much spring spec info in one thread.

Done.

Well, I installed the replacement bellhousing and dropped the motor in the car. She started right up, BUT once again, something has gone wrong. One of the wires for the IAT sensor for the VPC, broke off. Now it's time to find a replacement sensor. I called HKS and they will sell it to me with a new B-Map, which I don't need, for 65.00. They couldn't even give me a part # to cross reference.

Time to go with a real speed density setup :sneaky:

UPDATE! Well I installed the new sensor, car starts, idles a little rich. Time to tune the VPC. I am looking to get a wide band. Installed the FMIC, piping, yadda, yadda, yadda. All is going great, right, wrong. Transfer case is leaking, so I ordered new seals for that. I am literally going to have a new car when this is all done and said.

Car's looking real nice and clean install on that FMIC! I know how you feel about 'having a new car'. What I didn't intentionally replace, ended up leaking after rebuilding/installing the engine. Not fun to have a reasonable budget and then have a bunch of small piddly things (that really add up) jump up and end up being short for something else. Replace radiator with aluminum, has a leaky drain plug. Replace wheel bearings, get a leak on the axle seals. FMIC, cook the alternator... I had a built tranny in the budget until everything else decided to take a dump on me!

Be thankful you started with a good solid car that you know inside and out, it won't eliminate the small stuff but it'll drastically reduce them.

1GB Lasers are sexy!! Looks like you are taking your time and doing things right the first time, good luck with the project, looks like it will turn out sick!! :thumb:

UPDATE!!!

Installed the Aeromotive FPR, lines, yadda, yadda. Still need to mount it somewhere. Ordered the FP guage, should be here today, so I can set the fuel pressure. Installed the Uego and just looking forward to tuning her on the dyno.

Finally got the car on the road. Feels good, strong. Set a base tune with the VPC, getting 13.4-14.2 for A/F under half throttle. I am driving this thing everywhere to get the break in miles, so I can tune her WOT.

UPDATE!!!

Hey Now!! Just cracked the 1000 mile mark. She feels AMAZING. Boost is set at 25psi and it drops off to 23psi, but man this s16g is spoolin NOW and HARD. I have yet to get her tuned on the dyno, but A/F is staying in the 13.5-14.7 range under WOT.

"13.5-14.7 range under WOT" I have to only assume this is in boost as well if WOT. Thats lean in my opinion. I've always aimed for 11.5 under boost and 14.7 under n/a driving. But, it's looks freaking nice.

I thought 14.1 was perfect under any condition. So I should look to have the A/F drop as it gets tuned?

14.7 at WOT is LEAN AS HELL....

14.7 is perfect at neutral throttle or idle....

STOP BOOSTING IT AND GET THAT BIA TUNED.... NOW....

Quite lean, and Id guess you have a boost leak. 25psi is more than Id guess a 16g is capable of producing reliably without a lot of extra heat. Plus you are running on 560cc injectors, I think you said, which are just too small for that much boost IMO.

Hope you get it all sorted out before you nuke a new motor.
