92 Laser RS-T Alternator Issues

I purchased a laser today and the alternator seems to be working intermittently upon further inspection I found a cable disconnected. The cable is blue/green in color and runs with a yellow cable thats plugged on to a metal piece by the oil filter housing. These two cables appear to run into the side of the alternator. I am not sure where the blue/green cable is to be connected and if that is causing the alternator issues. I'm leaning towards just buying a new alternator unless that cable fixes the issue. Thanks!

Only things you have to worry about for the charging system are the output wire to the battery & the regulator plug in the back.

The other 2 wires, are they underneath the alternator? Are they the oil pressure sender wires?

Definitely sounds like an ALT (and possibly battery) needs replacing.

Ahh! That's it... that would be the oil pressure sender guauge wire, where would that plug in? I need a new alternator then, the battery is brand new just bought it yesterday. The oil pressure gauge on the dash doesnt work, that wire probably has something to do with it.

Ya you should only have the plug and the stud wire that charges the car. but one time i was dumb (drunk) and decided to spray paint my alternator. it started to not charge as well based off my gauge so i sprayed wd40 in it while the car was running and it made it charge better and stuff. just make sure to keep a fire extinguisher JUst in Case.... good luck

WD-40 cut off the paint off the rotor's armatures so the brushes could make solid contact with the armatures in as well as cleaned up the armature.
