Currently, I have future plans of Fic bluemax 1450cc injectors, Aquamist HFS-3 100% methanol injection, JMF Drag intake manifold. I'm only going for mid - high 9's in the 1/4. I'm going to see if I can get into the 10's on street tires first though (haha). Well as an update, I spent 6 hours last night dropping the turd VR-4 transmission, finished putting together my 1g trans with the center diff that I welded. Got my clutch and flywheel installed, then fought with the transmission for 4 hours. I triple checked with the installation tool that the clutch disks were properly aligned, and I still couldn't get the input shaft into the second disk no matter what I did. Any input guys?

So I finally got the transmission in with the help of a friend. By the way, I put a 1990 transmission in a '91 and the shifter feels smooth as butter...for anyone wondering. I put all the 91 shifter parts on it, but the one lever on the trans is shorter and you can't change it. It supposedly just makes it a shorter throw...but it feels stock to me. The clutch pedal feels great. I'm really confident that everything is solid now. Now I need to get the turbo, manifold, wastegate, and wiring harness in tonight because the AEM should be in sometime this week.

Oh, and disreguard the lime green valve cover...that is being changed sometime shortly. LOL

That CX racing FMIC is going to be a nightmare.
There was a test someone conducted and showed that it's less efficient than the OEM SMIC.
If you want an inexpensive intercooler go with the VRSF intercooler.

The only thing I've been hearing lately is that they get heat soaked pretty bad. I'm trying to get the ETS Race intercooler...working on funds LOL. I'll try this CXR out and I'll let everyone know what my IAT's are.

Just looked into the CXRacing intercoolers a bit more, There are countless threads of vortech supercharged mustang guys showing their IAT's before and after installing a CXR intercooler. One guy was seeing 150 degrees IAT's at 8 psi. He put his cxracing on and now is running 15 psi and his IAT's are down to 80 degrees. I will definetly post some results when I get it running. I'm not too worried about it working the best, as long as it works decent...because I'm going to be running 100% methanol injection anyway.

Finally painted a new valve cover, that lime green had to go. LOL.

UPDATE: So I had to junk that obx/xs power T4 manifold....I know better but I was just being a cheap ass. So this morning I ordered a DNP manifold :). New manifold should be here next week, then I'm just waiting on Sparky1989 to finish my sheet metal intake manifold.

cant wait to see the car on the dyno , my set up is a little difrent from your but very similar for the most part. i want to see how the spools .

btw i have t ets fmic that im selling pm i just need it gone , not trying to make money off it.

Great build so far man! I can't wait to see this baby running strong! I am also building a 1gen gsx. but it wont be nothing compared to this because im a broke college kid!

Haha thanks guys! Car has come a long way since. I got it running on AEM. We tuned it for 18 psi on 93 octane. Never made it to the track but the butt dyno was around 450whp. Do not use the .88 open T4 turbine housing. I was getting 18 psi right around 5800 rpm's. I ran this way for about a month and then I snapped a shift fork in the 1990 transmission I was using with unknown mileage. My new 92 transmission actually came in today and we're building that. It already has the Heavy Duty 3rd and 4th gears/hubs/sliders. I'm going to weld the center diff and double synchro 2nd gear. I acutally sold my 1000cc injectors and ordered FIC 2150cc's on friday and they should be here today also. I had to order another Bosch 044 fuel pump too. I'm converting to E85 now because we have a gas station with an E85 pump 2 miles from my house. Now whenever I get this bad boy together we're going to tune it for 35-40 psi on the .91 a/r twin scroll housing and I should get full boost around 5500 rpm's. Most S366 setups are making between 700-750whp at 35ish psi so I can not wait! I'm going straight to the dyno and then the track the same day we tune it.

I forgot to add that I'm getting ready to install my SMIM and 90mm Throttle body. I also picked up an 8 gallon aluminum fuel cell with a gm sending unit so I'll have a fuel gauge! :D

So I have my Fic 2150cc injectors, my 2 bosch 044 fuel pumps, my sheet metal intake manifold, 90mm throttle body, 3" upper intercooler pipe, .91 a/r twin scroll turbine housing, and fuel cell installed. I'm going to a buddies house tonight after work to weld the center diff and finish putting the transmission back together. Whenever this tranny blows I'm buying Jack's Super HD 700whp tranny. For now we're going to get the car running and tuned on e85, on the hopes of 750-800whp. I just want to get to the dyno, a couple of track passes, and run this toolbag from a local forum. Then I'll order Jack's trans.

Decided to rebuild the whole trans while it was apart. I plan on sending the input and output shafts to Jacks Transmissions. He definetly knows his stuff and is reasonably priced. I'm gonna run stock trans with double syncro 2nd and welded center diff until the end of the year and then i'm buying Jack's SuperHD trans, guaranteed for 700hp.

Hasn't really been much interest in my build. and I keep forgetting to update this. But I have a 12 gal aluminum fuel cell, dual Bosch 044 pumps, Fic 2150cc injectors, I ditched the Borg warner and got a BEP S366, trying to make it more streetable fun. Ended up just welding the center diff in my new stock 92 transmission. Everything is all back together, including my new fmic thats 31x4x12, my new bumper side exit exhaust/wastegate dump. Enjoy! :)

How are you going about cooling for you radiator. It also loos like the couple is hitting the fins.

Besides that nice build!!

If you're talking about when I had the civic half radiator, it didn't work LOL. It kept overheating, I couldn't keep the car below 220. Popped in the stocker and BAM....190 all the time. I also ditched the advanced auto slim fans and custom mounted oem FD Rx7 fans inbetween the rad and fmic and wired them as pushers. The coupler looks to be touching the radiator in the picture but I assure you there is plenty of clearance there.

Its the same product as teh Punishment racing one, and people swear by that one.

I don't care what he "saw" anyways, it kept my IAT's cool for 18 psi on a 66mm turbo LOL.
