Hey, my buddy has a 1990 talon and he’s having issues with his linkage on the transmission. He says he has massive amount of play on this part of the linkage circled in the green. Would this be fixed internally by pulling apart the transmission?

Thanks!

No. It wouldnt. That is a simple shaft pinned right there where you have it circled. If there is play something is broken inside or missing. If the play is up and down he is missing the select shoe that rides on the groove of that shaft. If gears wont engage he could have a broken shift fork or broken shift dog at that shaft end both reside inside.
